The Templar Thread, 5.56 by Crusader Arms / Spectre LTD

This is really too bad, I had high expectations for these rifles. I wouldn't be very happy if I ordered a rifle that was "In stock and ready to ship" and after paying finding out this is not the case at all. Hoping they can turn this around and get back on track. I was hoping to find another fun/reliable plinker/coyote gun other than my tavor's but looks like the wait continues !

Yeah its not ideal. And it did take me 3 emails, a text & an Instagram DM to get a response. I'm not worried just yet, delays happen and its a brand new gun. Lets give it another 2 weeks and see...

All that said - Is Crusader a sponsor here? Do they have and representation here?

My name is Steve Goulet I’m the owner of Crusader Arms. We don’t have an account here so I can’t really answer questions. I can tell you all orders should be filled by the end of next week. all the rifles were in stock and ready to go and as they were being packaged we noticed that there was an issue with the anodizing. We then took all the rifles apart. And sent those parts back out for anodizing. When the parts come back we will then reassemble all the rifles. as you can imagine this is very expensive but we are doing it so that the customer can get the absolute best quality product.

Thank you very much Steve for the update, this is not ideal, but I do appreciate the last minute Q.C to make sure the customer isn't stuck with a faulty product.....Now get some videos uploaded of what this sucker can do!!

Or maybe lend a few rifles to some good youtube reviewers

There are a few rifles out for review right now. Hosergunguy has one and is testing it. There’s also affordable optics, CBRNART and ballistically speaking.

So when do we see some detailed reviews? Thus far, the only comment has been Taccom exterior video by Affordable Optics. What about some actual reviews with unique features, close-up shots of the guts, accuracy testing, reliability findings and live-fire footaage, etc?

It's in the GunTubers hands and release schedules now. Though I am getting cerulean gonads hitting refresh on the Code of Arms YouTube channel hoping to see the over thousand round ammo dump on a Templar video :p

Well, the "gun-tubers" must be awfully slow to produce content then. Perhaps video is much slower than the written word. I had part 1 of the R18's written Review out within 3 days of receipt of the pre-production Test Rifle. The review process is not complex and only accuracy and reliability require the time-consuming completion of a live-firing cycle. Normally, the reviews (written and/or video) are timed for release concurrent with the product launch, which occurred for all intents and purposes at TACCOM 2022.

Just saying....

I understand where you are coming from, anyone that doesn’t do video likely has no idea as to the time investment. To do ####ty video I’m sure people could turn something around in a couple days. Decent stuff takes time, also most YouTubers are not making a living off this and many of them have real jobs and perhaps families so in fairness, unless they are retired they likely aren’t making it their life long priority for turn around time…just saying!
It’s not sounding like they are hurting for publicity as they are slammed with orders, I think the real challenge will more so be to keep up with demand!

Perhaps you should reach out and do your own 3 day turnaround review I’m sure everyone here would appreciate that!

did you see my close-up shots here: https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...pectre-LTD?p=19120257&viewfull=1#post19120257

I am still waiting for my 500 internet points

Yes, I saw your lovely photos. Unfortunately, images of random parts strewn on top of a barrel in no particular order do not a useful review make. Sorry, but under the circumstances only 50 Internet Points can be awarded for the high quality and artistic interpretation of your subject matter.

As for timing, Reviews typically accompany the public release of a new platform. Look at how the big kids do things South of the border. It should have been a simple matter of timing and foresight to push review rifles out ahead of the TACOM launch, particularly since Crusader already had stockpiles of the Templar ready to ship at show time. If the selected reviewers can't produce content in a timely manner, the opportunity to make maximum impact and whet appetites is lost. Just seems like a big missed opportunity and a strange way to run a railroad....

well i cant take credit for the artistry as Crusader placed the parts...i just took the pic. It wasnt meant to be a review, just a quick pic from TACCOM. I will try not to spend my 50 points in one place.

I suppose that's alot better than dealing with it as warranty work. I appreciate that you aren't going to push a shotty product like the high profile jerks.
I wish you would have come out right away with that info, like post it to your website, instead of leaving us all to go mad.
Thanks for the update Steve

P.s. is this actually a 180 platform; and if so will the TNA adjustable 180c gas valve fit?
