Lee key drive slugs, Winchester AA hulls, AA12 wads with petals trimmed to facilitate release from the slug, three homemade nitro cards (U-haul box and 5/8" gasket cutter), CCI 209 primer, 35.8gn of HS-6.

The ones in the pic were from a previous batch that I star crimped. I have been playing with a roll crimp tool I found at the gun show and they are coming out pretty nice but I am waiting on a new tool in the mail that I have high hopes for.

Potato Boy, have you shot any of those combo shells? How'd they work out if you did?

Just as an update in the unlikely event someone is interested. I didn't keep my target as the weather had it's way with it, but this combo easily shot under an inch at 100 yards with virtually no felt recoil.
 
45-70 ammo with 405 grain jacketed (Woodleigh) and IMR-3031 for a modern Marlin 1895.
WW cases, CCI-200 primers.
CCI are the safest primers to use with the LEE and RCBS hand held priming tools.
Decap with LEE decapping die and crimp with LEE factory crimp die.
A pretty fool proof combo.
You can’t pack enough ‘3031 into the case to blow up the gun.
 
I always wondered what ROT is required to stabilize those ‘car battery sized’ (500 grain +) 45-70 bullets for much past 25 yds?
 
60 pieces of .243 Win, 55gr varminators over 40.5gr of H4595, not the fastest load but i like it

now if someone could give me a good load for deer in the same cal i would apriciated it, i shied away form heavier bullets when i first tried my Model 11, since it was doing crappy groups with factory ammo, now i wouldn’t mind working something up for next year deer season
 
In the last week or two I've been off work so got busy with some loading.
180 rounds of 38-55 with 45gr FFg drop-tubed and compressed. 250gr 20-1 cast.
About 150 rounds of 45-70 with 65gr FFg. 500gr 20-1 spire points.
50 32S&W with 2gr titegroup and 90gr rn cast.

Was running out of things that were ready to go so modified 100 cases of G.F.L 7.62 Nagant revolver brass that wouldn't fit in any of my shellholders.

Lots of casting to do still.
 
At the moment;
new 7-08 to check out, as to what it will handle and do compared to the old one, trying 140Nos BT w/ww760 and RL19. WW760 was getting me 2900+ in the old one. Those are done, 100 rds of ladder loads-- 5 ea for velocity/pressure, 5 ea to see how they shoot. Then I'll switch to partitions on it, hunted with that for 30 yrs @ 2860 in the old one. Check the BT's performance velocity wise, against Rem 140gr factory as well. Old Rem 700 vs new Ruger #1.

218bee in a Stevens 044-1/2, 100 rds w/40gr Vmax and two powders, Lil' Gun and AA1680, ladder loads, 5 ea for velocity/pressure, 5 ea see how they shoot. Comparing to old 45 & 50gr loads I have for it.

25 7mm Rem mag w/140 gr and RL22 , see how those shoot and where I am at for velocity, don't want max loads out of this, 2900-3000 is good, in a Merkel K1. Keep the recoil and muzzle jump down a bit.

30 30R blaser and Rl22 w/ 170 gr Partition, 181gr TUG and 180gr Sierra RN, also have factory 184 gr to check out and see what they do. Kreieghoff SxS, still working on trying to match what it was regulated with and trying to get close to factory ammo speeds.

.218 Bee, seeing what I can do to improve over 45 gr Sierra and 50gr Nos Expander loads in it. Don't need to, just want to.

And I will do some .223 rem for an 1885 and maybe some 300H&H for another 1885. I need to develop a load for the 223, I have one not bad one for it, can improve probably though.

The 300 isn't a priority, it will be tough to match or beat Hornady 180gr interlock factory loads on it, and I have 5-6 boxes of those all out of the same lot, bought them to get brass, but, they shoot 1MOA or less out of it. I should do a load for it with partitions though.

The 30R is a project in itself being in a SxS. So far one load I have tried, shows some consistency, out of 4 bullets and 3 powders so far, and I have yet to reach factory 180DK speeds within 75fps,and they are about 100fps off where they should be. I have the time and patience to work with it though, and 3 boxes of the ammo it was regulated with, to use for hunting. It is definitely a tinkering gun.

I have used 95gr SST bullets sitting above 42.3gr IMR4350 in an R-P case @ 2.695" C.O.A.L as well as 80gr T-TSX sitting above 44.0gr IMR4350 @ 2.685" C.O.A.L both producing sub-MOA in a factory Tikka.

Both have been quite handy for the whitetails and 'yotes!

nice, thank you, i’ll use those as my base to try work out a good load
 
A few months ago I made up some 44mag with 240gr SWC powder coated cast bullets and 12gr of D800. Thats the starting load I have for 800x so figured it would be alright. It's a bit more than 10% below the max listed.

I like a good stout load some days and this was right up there! The cases were sticking in both the Redhawk and the Marlin 94 and the primers are flattened right out. Good time to stop and re-evaluate.

Pulled the remaining cartridges and confirmed the charge and load data was right. Pulling was a pain because of the firm roll crimp. Then sized and reprimed the fired cases to see if they were stretched but sizing and primer pockets were normal.
Loaded them back up with 9gr and 10gr charges to see how that works out. Originally I was thinking that going that low would result in low pressures and incomplete combustion but now I'm happy to explore that side of the story.

Long winded but wanted to tell the story for the benefit of anyone else using D800 in handgun rounds. Start at least 10% below the minimum recommended loads or even a little lower. It's pretty hot compared to 800x.
 
i loaded 10, 410 shells with 3 160gr 40cal bullets today sitting on 10gr of h110, no shot cut just one cardboard over powder card. raccoon load, 6" triangle at 30 feet

and 20 6.5x55 with 160gr cast and 19gr of 2400 for my lee enfield no5
