The "What Have You Reloaded Today" thread

Trimmed, de-burred, sized, belled and primed 200 new .45-70 Star Line cases.
Gotta feed those Buffalo rifles somehow and each one likes a slightly different loading.

I bought a box of 500 Berry's 55 gr bullets for my AR the other week, loaded up the first 50 223 rounds the other night 25.0 gr H335 over a CCI450 primer and PMC brass.

I resized, trimmed, and primed 100 once fired 450-400 3" Nitro Express cases, anticipating the return of my double rifle next week from a USA gunsmith who re-regulated it for me with Hornady factory loads. Now I need to work up a factory duplication load - preparing for a safari in the Caprivi region of Namibia. This should be fun!

Jim,
My rifle is a Merkel 140AE, and besides the Hornady factory duplication loads of 400 gr. DGX, I will load some Woodleigh 400 gr. Weldcore soft points and FMJ "solid" bullets, and some of their Hydrostatically stabilized solids, and I also want to try some North Fork Cup point solids. I have all those bullets on hand. Final decision on what to hunt with will depend on shooting tests. 400 grains of premium bullet goodness flying out the muzzle at 2100 fps should be effective for cape buffalo and elephant. Perhaps hippo. Here's a closeup picture. The scope and red dot reflex sight are both in pivot mounts and return to zero after installation.

I made 30 rounds of 30-06 for the next couple hunting seasons. 55gr IMR4350, 180gr speer boat tails.

Ive never taken any game with this rifle as I have an illness that causes me to buy multiple hunting rifles for no apparent reason. Hopefully I can take down a black bear and a couple white tails this year.
