Tikka are ugly

"Agreed, not the prettiest guns (especially the T1x) but no getting away from how well they do their job."

You can pretty up a T1X, somewhat, with a Boyd's 'Spike Camp' stock, but the clip? Beefier than the synthetic and should do a stellar job on gophers soon.

I just gave my son for his 15th birthday a stainless camo stocked left hand bolt Tikka T3x superlite in 30-06 installed a Leupold VX3 2.5-8x36mm scope with Talley lite weight rings.

He's in love with it thinks its the coolest gun he has ever seen let a lone owned.

With factory 150gr loads he is putting all of his shots into the bull at 100 yards

I wish more people agreed with you so they wouldn't hold their value as well as they do. No deals to be had on used Tikka's.

Yeah, I jumped on the tikka bandwagon, owned 2 of them. Ugly, no soul. Accurate though. If I where to do that again I’d just get the axis. I won’t though.

I've owned two. Bolts like butter. Decent trigger. BUT that stock....I hated them. Made them just too homely for my safes. Down the road they went. Nothing wrong with them. I am sure an aftermarket stock might have swayed me to keep one of them. I Wasn't a huge fan of the plastic bolt shroud either come to think of it.

I put a bell and carlson stock on mine. Best rifle ever. The laminate versions are alright as well.

Tikka's are excellent rifles, especially for their price. However, the OEM stocks do leave a lot to be desired.

Thankfully, there's ever growing aftermarket support for Tikka's, you can always change the stock out for any one of these:

Nice rifles, but they aren't Tikka's anymore, they are custom rifles built off a Tikka action. If you want to spend $4K on a custom 15lb rifle, Tikka isn't a bad base i guess.

I agree! From my experience savage axis is the bottom of the barrel for a hunting rifle! They feel like toys and the action design and barrel nut is straight up ugly!

Savage and Tikka are in very different tiers when it comes to quality.

I will agree with many here that Tikka's leave a lot to be desired with the OEM stocks, but the rest of the rifle is top notch. Thankfully the stock is the easiest part of a rifle to change, and there is a plethora of options for Tikka's these days.

If a pretty rifle can't shoot, that is ugly. Tikka's are utility rifles and keep meat in the feezer--that's what is pretty!
I owned a few Savages, and apart from some cheap cost cutting measures, are not bad.

I have shot a couple tikka's owned by friends.
Not sure what models they were but one in .308 and one in 7mm rem mag.
Nice rifle as far a weight, balance , handling and both were very accurate with federal premium hunting ammunition
My gripe is all about the bolt feel and both rifles felt the same.
I'm used to the buttery smooth actions of my ruger m77 mk2 and my lee enfield no1 mkIII's
Out of the box Tikkas are a fine rifle but just not for me
