Training Interest?

If LMS is a US entity or has Americans on its payroll - you will not be gtg with the DOS unless each and every candidate is pre-cleared - regardless of what the Cdn gov says.

It is possible to get a waiver for training, however it will be 1000x times easeir for LE or MIL.

BigRed and Reaper are more than qualified to run training in Canada.

I'd like to see a thread explaining the process necessary to get such a waiver.

Training

Well Done Kev and congrats!! any AAR on the CQB course?

BTW, this TAA, is now the SOP even for MIL/LE, don't know why? but its now made getting better training more difficult?

As much as I respect the US, I don't have time to be treated like a third world nation. Enough is enough!!
Cheers

Guys I am now working for KAC in Fl.

ITAR's now forbid me training Canadians who are not US perm residents w/o approval from the US Dept of State. DOS has recently hit BW and others training Canadians, and other nationalities without permission.

I just finished the Larry Vickers CQB Instructors class with the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office, great class, and those who can be accredited I highly recommend it.

Sucks to hear that you can't offer training. Congrats on KAC, but I have a question about this DOS thing does it mean that Americans can't come up here, or does it mean we can't go down as well (so, say, we wouldn't be able to go to Tactical Response anymore?)

American's can't come up here to train us and we can't go down there for training.

Basically, no training of non-Americans.

I kinda thought that was coming. For anyone observant he's had the Knights web address in his sig line for some time;).

OK now here's the $20,000 question. Since Knight's has taken an interest in the civi market as of late, are you going to do your best to ensure KAC doesn't forget about us Canadians, regardless how small a market we represent?:D Even if you have to endure endless "Canuck" jokes and jibes about our military?:D

Edit: Oh yeah, Congrats. Many here would give their left nut to work for KAC, in Florida, it's a rough life eh?.......sigh.....

.....

It won't matter if they are interested in a civilian market. It will only be for the US civilian market because the restriction by the US government.

Questar just brought in a shipment of KAC complete rifles !!!!!!????

Export Permit was started a year ago and took months of back and forth negotiation with US State Department to get configuration that they would approve. Based on the tightened restrictions that have come into force since then I doubt we could get another export permit today.

The other "problem" is that KAC has a distribution agreement in place with Nicholls for Canada so any "export" to Canada by KAC would be through them and Nicholls has never shown any interest in selling that product line to civilians... heck, they've never even tried much to sell it to Law Enforcement

Mark

Well, at least now KAC will be aware of the high regard we Canadians have for RNichols, and thanks to Mark, how quickly the product can sell here. Of course it's still KAC, they'll never be able to deliver to the civillian market like other producers, it was never the intent of the company to do so.

News Flash ----------OLD NEWS-------------:D

It is not a concern for companies like KAC ,McMillan Bros ,HK, FN that RNichols handle's there products . RNichols market is not catering to the Commercial/Retail side its market is the Law Enforcment and Government Contracts this were the money is made and selling to us is such a small market why even bother.I know it sucks but with the extra paper work and headaches to service such a limited sector I cannot blame them .

Guys - I FULLY encourage those of you at SHOT to come up to our booth and gie your honest opinion of companies.

I will be at the KAC booth - wearing a KAC shirt and a badge that says
Kevin Boland
KAC Mil/Gov Product Liaison

If I have to work some evenings to make a Canadian Export compliant gun - I will.

The Mil/Gov side is still our bread and butter - the M110/Mk11 rifles, suppressors and night vision systems are what keeps the doors open. As more and more production capabilty is purchased more civilian offerings will me made available.

I am truly sorry on the training. TAA's in place for Mil and LE should allow that to go unfettered.
