And I appreciate the post. I'm glad to hear getting the hardware for CNC warrior worked out, I need a few die kits. It's nice to see the crown style that you and others have tried. I've ben researching this off and no for a long while, and the typical 11 degree target crow comes up time and time again - maybe I just want to be different, but I'm looking at alternatives backed up with data / results.

only thing I will have to look into is accuracy , I noticed low and right. yesterday when I was in the basement I pinned my target up and inserted my bore sight laser and noticed it was way off, now bare in mind it's a cheap china made bore sight tool , the bore laser was left and little low of center of target with my sights on center. so I adjusted sights to reflect the low and right bullet holes and will see how it improves on the range.
for those who have wanted to cut and thread I noticed on you tube not many home jobs and I'm not a you tuber so this thread was to help those who may have questions and for my self for questions aswell.
Was never intended to bash anyone or sponsors Hical would have got my money but with shipping and having to wait was my concern. besides I kinda wanted to try it. Hical has been a great company customer service has been spot on and will keep supporting them.
CNC Warrior great to deal with aswell just wish we could get some more parts imported from them

Nice, that is a tasteful mod! Where did you get the brake? Did you open up the top of the front sight hood?
I am, after careful reading and research, chopping my SKS barrel down and recrowning this weekend. Just one question I can't find the best info for: Removing the bayo lug and front sight. Drift the pins out then hammer them off? Is it just that simple? I don't plan on reinstalling the front sight, I have a Magwedge rail and optic.

every sks is different. Mine just drifted the pins out and stood it on log and small sledge hammer with some oil and it popped off. couldn't believe how easy it was.
read some posts that some had to heat it up even had to leave soaking in oil for weeks .
just take your time

Mid project update. Got the front sight and bayo lug off. Pins came out easy. Braced muzzle against a piece of wood, used a 2nd piece up against the front sight post. 15 minutes of good solid whacks with a hammer, and she's free. Damage to the front sight was my fault. Grabbed it with a pair of locking pliers thinking I had it whacked enough and could pull it off. I didn't and I couldn't.

This is the threading kit from cnc warrier . great service and amazing product, the die cut the threads like butter

I was able to take a bit of time today and decided to thread the barrel , I measured the amount of threads inside the brake and cut just over 3/4 of them as I needed to test fit numerous times to allow the brake to sit properly. not threading too much or too little
only thing I was not too keen on but was expecting was the lack of crush washer. nothing to secure it to so lock tight was used. and will keep an eye on the brake as I use it.
on wed I'm off and will try to test fire in the back before I go up to borden on saturday and try the 100m . I did put a small crown on the end aswell
overall I really like it, the brake completes the end and as I stated I never did like the bulky front sight and think this is way better.

Neat idea. I have a project like this on back burner but i will try to keep the sight and cleaning rod with mine. On a side note. What you have installed is a flash hider not a brake. Will not reduce the recoil. A good muzzle brake will improve your shooting accuracy.

sorry for the typo. not sure why I keep calling it a brake.. for now I wanted a simple flash hider and looking for something else. I have another sks that is in the wood stock. my also cut that one and install this hider and get something else for this rifle. still not sure.
