No. Not if you do it yourself... The last gun I had cut and crowned I had done at dlask. I've had the same job done by bits of pieces and reliable. All 3 businesses employ real live gunsmiths and were right around the $70 mark.$70 if you did it yourself you mean. $400 for the SKS I want is ok for me with a guarantee. I must have a high paying job.
I bought a 19" homemade chop job by "Grin" which turned to be a dud, he either used a torch or pipe cutter because rounds were all over the place. .307 neck. Also had to crown via the YouTube video. Never again!
Over paying for things doesn't mean you have lots of money or a high paying job...
