Cool looking rifle but at 999.00 no spare mags I will stick with my vz 58 rifles. Now if priced around the 700.00 I may add one to my collection

I want a test version to do put it through its paces so yes I am getting one but from who and when dunno yet time will tell yes a preorder will happen to make sure.

We love the VZ58 but its become kinda scarce and we no longer have the nice 699-799 prices from 2 years ago we purchased them for.

We sold off our SKS's already just have VZ58's and since the RPD thinger still in RCMP's grabbers for years to come can't rely on that but a Type 81 LMG would do the job perfectly.

PCVando No one reads properlly anymore welcome to social media attention spans era.

LMAO

I thought you weren't buying one cuz it didn't come with a bayo and is parked!?!?!?!?!

Hey the Libs are watching. Everyone know I only own a rusty .22 and get my pictures from google.

Hopefully the AK front post will fit so I can order a HiViz sights in advance as well.

Lol, you guys are already ordering parts in advance. There's absolutely no guarantee anyone has given that the factory producing the T81 even has the time to produce a run for our market. Last I heard (from CanAm), the factories were busy providing weapons and munitions for the war in Syria.

Get confirmation from TI that isn't hearsay that our rifles are being produced before buying anything for the rifles yet.

Are we calling it a war in Syria? All I see is a few idiots shooting around corners of buildings not even looking just a bunch of losers. Hope Russia finishes up quick. It's embarrassing that a bunch of drug addicts running around in sneakers and calling it a war. It's more like target practice of what is coming next.

Looks like it's no where near the quality of the run of the original Type 81's. The ones that came to America before the ban had excellent bluing and fit and finish on the parts.

Not sure if they're cutting corners here, but I'd like to see an original blued model with non painted Chu hardwood like seen on the original ones. For a $1000, there won't be as crazy of a demand, since a VZ.58 is in the same price range. Too bad.

Maybe we might see better versions with other importers, I hope.

I agree. Looks pretty fugly to me... don't understand the popularity of this firearm when you can get a VZ58 already. I'm sure guys will buy it though.

I have a vz58 but with the NR barrel it looks pretty dumb, this with the ne barrel looks much better then the vz does imo

My 15.5" VZ58 looks, feels and performs - awesome (paid $649 for it)...

The finish on that Type 81 looks awful... almost like someone brought it into the spray paint booth. I'd rather see bluing than parkerizing. But hey, I'm not buying one. Maybe it looks like a million bucks to you guys. I bought a Henry Golden Boy and I have a hard time shooting it, it's so gorgeous (and it wasn't $1000).

Maybe the actual run will be nicer than the prototype, as that's pretty underwhelming.
