A quick oe for all you kiddies out there, the valmets were parkerized aswell unless they got repainted in the future :-0

BUT BUT BUT how could they do that to VALMETS if the finish is garbabage!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!?

Found some Parked pictures, those were also a great investment... lol.. I stripped 6 SA15.7 for parts...

Once I oiled them they look fantastic.

Some needs to call the head of NATO and let them know blueing is better than the standard parkerizing their using on their guns :p

Bluing is effectively pre-rusting a firearm. The oxidation coating inhibits further rusting, within reason.

Parkerizing adds a manganese or zinc porous matrix on the surface of bare steel. This surface is designed for oil retention. The park does not resist rust, the oil being repainted by the park does, assuming it's maintained.

Two very different processes to do the same thing.

Bluing is more costly up front, however, and soldier labour to apply oil in the field is low since you are paying them anyway. So all things being equal, we use parkerizing for many applications in NATO. We also use black oxide (bluing) where it makes sense.

Sorry, both sold for for around 8000$ + a piece

And might I add that was a good price for the buyer, especially if you try to import one from the states. (If by some mad stroke of luck, you actually manage to find one.)

I'm sure you did well selling, but people don't seem to realize how rare 7.62x39's actually are :)

That's correct, and then people gripe about the price of a Valmet saying they aren't worth that much then also complain about the price of the type 81.

Either way people will buy what they want at the price they want IF they can afford it
