Yes, I realize that... but if the receivers are identical (as in: not converted autos that were stripped from a once assembled FA gun, à la CZ-858), then the authorization to bring them in should stand the same. Administrative law states that administrative decisions have to have continuity... as in not change depending on the color of the sky on a given day.

As an example, if an administrative body gives permission for one thing to person or entity A, it cannot refuse permission for the same thing and under the same circumstances (and same legal framework) to person or entity B. In essence, every decision has a continuity and therefore administrative bodies have to be careful as not to create a precedent with a wrong decision. In a very real way, you could say that a decision rendered by a competent administrative authority has the force of law.

The TI Type 81 FRT # is a precedent. Even if the "other" future T81 rifles have a different nomenclature for import purposes, they are still under the same umbrella (provided that there aren't any technical differences between them and the TI precedent). A lot of sponsors get their shipments "gonged as prohibs" because of questionable manufacturing processes at their suppliers' plants, it seems.

That, at least, is how it's "supposed" to work.

The Poly Type 81 isn't an "off the shelf" semi-auto model, but featured CAD-specific internal modifications developed by us in-house. These modifications were not shared with any third parties. Nevermind that EMEI has exclusivity with Poly for Type 81's going to Canada and Poly has exclusivity with us...

You're splitting hairs to justify to yourself why you don't want a gun. It's your philosophy not mine. Why else would one continuously comment about a gun they don't want as if to try to convince others not to like it. If you aren't interested, why keep coming back to a thread on something that doesn't have something you want to keep saying you don't want it and why?

Boggles my mind.

It's an open thread though. Free for open opinion, whether we agree or not. You have your opinions and I have mine. I wouldn't dare want the last word, then the thread would be over and what's the point in that?

If the comment stung then I apologize.

I actually do plan on buying one. I just don't plan on shooting it as often as other rifles. It's important to point out an items believed shortcomings as well as strong points.
No point fawning over something just because it's new and soon to be available.
I look at it objectively, weigh the good and the bad. Unfortunately, some narrow minded members view not conforming to popular opinion as trolling.
Funny, cause depending on parts availability I may actually buy two.

If they do it won't be a drop in kind of situation. Everything will need to be modded to work except the handguards as the T81 are longer then AK ones

Its a type 81 not an AK , I dont see the point of dressing it up like one.

I might be stating the obvious, but having more options for furniture would be why I would want compatibility - for pistol grips anyway. You can also get AK-AR15 pistol grip conversions, giving you even more options. Just sayin'.

We'll see what the actual finished product looks like vs a throw away Guinea pig, considering the one shown at the Toronto Sportmen Show came from the RCMP lab I'm surprised it wasn't in worse shape, as in cut up or welded.

Yeah that constant AK hard on makes me shake my head.

I was just curious, I like options when it comes to accessories, and like most people would like to put my own touch on a rifle to make it my own. I understand alot of people like to leave it stock but I like tinkering with all my rifles, lol can't help it. A stock here a rail there options make it more desirable.
