Type 81 Owners Corner !

Line it up with the take down button about 1/2 covered by the cover (so you can see top half of it) push it forward then down once it clears the lip at the rear of the receiver. If the button doesn't pop out just cycle the action while holding down on the dust cover. It usually just pops out. It gets easier and easier the more you do it.
your tip of cycling the action when the button gets stuck was the ticket! Goes on every time now. Practice also helps, lol:cheers:

If it works, it will work well and work for a long time. Chinese stuff is what it is.... but the price normally reflects the lower grade quality.
Price is obviously subjective, some think $1000 is a deal, some think these should be $500. I'm sure 3/4 of buyers are pretty new to firearms that bought these and have little experience with Chinese manufacturing. $1000 is a bit more then I'm willing to gamble with on one of these now the real reviews are coming in.

The quality is exactly as expected. Actually the wood might be a little nicer than expected.

It's Chinese commie gun quality, no surprises here at all.

Is it worth $1000? Hell no. $1000 is just what it costs. All you get for your money is a NR that looks like an AK47, and if that's what you want (I did) then you got it.

People weren't actually expecting deep rich blueing, fine walnut and sub MOA accuracy, were they? Laugh2

Now that the main t81 thread is locked I hope this thread can stay about the TYPE 81 RIFLE!! Not a place to discuss TI or how the whole process was handled.

I got one.

Wow. And the electronic info was submitted even before the ship unloaded in Vancouver - that's a trick, fer sure.

Mine (fixed) was the same. It seems that they started prepping the labels, of some, in advance. Made sense in my mind, it's how I would have prepped to ship in bulk - all the paperwork done in advance.
