charging handle threaded?
how to fold the stock with this mount?
Take it off, then fold.
very practical, for sure
same applies for a quick bolt strip.
Yes, take if off then strip. No rush
so far with the mount needed to be taken off, for basic stripping and for folding...will/ does it hold zero, when you repeat this 50+ times at least?
There are a couple of examples of people who successfully mounted their scopes to the rifle.
The easiest way:
Side mount plate can be mounted within the arrow pointed area, as long as it does not interfere with the carrier motion and other mechanisms, but this will cause us to have a higher optic mounting level.
See Pic, See Pic
What I will do:
I will give this a try, and try to mount it to the right and lower side of the rifle (just above your pistol grip).
Yes, the side mount plate will be on the same side of the stock when the stock's folded, but if it's just plate itself, the stock would still able to lock-in when folded (only work with skeletonized stock).
Looks awesome, is that the RS regulate AK mount?
What mount base did you use for it and where did you purchase the mount base.
Care to show us in more detail how you went about mounting it to the reciever
Just got a side plate and side mount for optic,
to do list:
1. find a location for the side plate, on the right side of the receiver, as the left side has a very 'busy' internal structure (safety plate etc.) See concept Pic!
2. insert an aluminium shim between the side plate and the receiver, to avoid the wider steel side plate running into rivets and safety, I don't want to work on steel side plate as it's hard to deal with
3. sanded one surface of the aluminium shim to an angle to compensate the 'bent' receiver
4. cut off the blued area of the shim, drill and threaded the three holes for bolts, make adjustments to the shim where the rivets may obstruct, See Shim Pic
5. test fitting, and if satisfied, drill the same three holes onto the receiver
6. adjusting shim, making sure the shim is levelled, a washer may be needed at this stage
7. get the perfect bolts and nuts, ensure the nuts will not obstruct internal mechanism once tightened
8. lock-tight, side plate on, side mount on, adjust the upper portion of the side mount (RS Regulate), to achieve alignment with open sights (centre!) Hopefully, it will look like this, See Pic

Next step, put a muzzle brake on it! Well worth the investment.
Thanks for posting the pics
I think I'm gonna give this a try too whenever I pick up a T81 again
