I shot a Type 81 today to do a live fire sight in and recorded the groups for people who are curious. There isn't much data out there in terms of good accuracy tests other than Murray 3D's video.
This first target is 25meters.
Then this is 50 meters.
This is a real nice group at 50 with the Type 81
This is 100 meters. Now this is the first group at 100. It blew my mind. Unfortunately wasn't able to repeat ever again.
Over adjusted the windage but this is the second group.
Then when I had the windage correct I did a 15 shot group at 100 which resulted in a 6" group.
For the final test I did a 200 meter group. The bulk of the group is with in 10"
For me its a 5MOA rifle. I'm curious to figure out how the rifle managed to pull off such a small group at 100. Additionally it managed to do a pretty stellar group at 50 as well. I'm pretty confident that if I had 300 meters, I could hit that paper relatively easy which is 17" x 24". As a final note, I'm not so sure what people find horrible about the sights on the Type 81. They work perfectly fine.
