Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Waiting on a private sale transfer since April 18 and one from a dealer on April 21.
As much as I want to cry and whine that I don’t have either one yet, the ####in ranges are still closed anyway. It’s a great time to reload and study ballistics.

any freedom of info requests go in on the quantity of transfers completed per day and staffing complement per day.....to compare :) something tells me covid is not the only excuse, but also political meddling.
 
I emailed the Ontario CFO this morning and they just sent this reply a short while ago. I am waiting for a transfer from the beginning of April, so I am just over the 6 week mark now. To make it easier and faster during the current pandemic they said I would be getting my approval via email. This is the longest transfer I've ever had to wait for.

"We are still processing transfers from March 19& 20."

While I am partially understanding of the current state of pandemic, I don't find it acceptable that Ontario/ Ontario transfers are taking this long while other provinces are getting their transfers done in one or two days. My buddy got a transfer leaving Ontario done in one day.
 
Still waiting on my transfer from the west coast started April 16th...called into the CFO a few moments ago...told wait times are 10-12 weeks now (with a lot of attitude throw in too!!!) ...not to mention I had a transfer started only last week, May 14th.

Gotta love having over $4,500 worth of guns that I can't use for 2+ months...and add probably another week and a half waiting for shipping times too.

Are they double checking out daily checks or what?!...for real, I don't get it.
 
Purchased from an Ontario dealer on 26 march ( in the evening)transfer started on 27th March. Today still waiting and haven’t been able to get any contact from the CFO on the numbers listed online.

You're going to be waiting a while yet. File a complaint with the ON ombudsman in the meantime, it only takes a few minutes.

Based on the current pace, and that it took 17 days to reduce the backlog from March 18 to 20, you will get your transfer completed on July 9.

Unless you do something about it.
 
LOL @ the guys calling in for mid to late April transfers.. so based on everything you’ve seen on here with people that haven’t receiving transfers for mid to late March, what makes you think you’re going to get some magical update? Great job wasting the time of the one sloth we have doing transfers.

And to the guys saying “the range is closed anyway”, I don’t care if it’s closed. I want the tool I paid for now. If this was something I bought from China with astronomical shipping times then I wouldn’t care. They’re hurting business owners because I’m sure there’s plenty of people holding onto their cash now thinking “forget that wait”. So cut the sympathy. They’re paid to do perform a function. Clearly they can’t do it reasonably so hopefully the ombudsman will do the right thing and farm the work out. Probably be better to privatize that function altogether and keep it devoid of political influence and government incompetence.
 
Received an update from the merchant I ordered from and was informed that they have started to receive Mar 20 transfers.
One of my orders was around that time frame... anytime now!

At this point the Ontario ombudsman’s office is our ONLY hope.

My local MPP Lorne Coe is mister invisible. Hasn’t been seen nor heard from since the election win. And that prick is a conservative.
My MP is a Liberal.....Ryan turnbull. I’m surrounded by donkeys.
