Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Purchased a Firearm from LGS on April 23. Transfer wasn't initiated until April 30. Approved May 4. Three business days is not too shabby

Why did it take them 1 week before they started the transfer?
That's unacceptable by any standards.

Just got a glock 19x last week. Transfer took 5 days even though the guy on the phone said it would take weeks. Just proceed with the process it seems faster than they say it is.

Ontario to Ontario private - 3 Days. The strange part is that neither the buyer or I received an email even though we both requested it. We both received a paper copy of the Transfer notification.

I live in BC and sold a pistol to a fellow in Ontario. Transfer took a week. Sold another to my brother in BC and it was done same day. Sold a pistol to a fellow in Quebec: two weeks and counting....

Ontario dealer to private... 1 day. Had that happen once before around 15 years ago.

It might have to do with that you work at the CFO's office, and you approved the transfer yourself.
Still took you one full day, unacceptable!

Ontario dealer to Ontario 1 day.....its worth repeating 1 day. I also bought a lotto ticket. It was submitted May 4th and approved May 5th but neither one of us were ever notified by email that the transfer had been completed. In the mail today (May 17th) , I received the registration certificate so I will pick it up tomorrow. A year ago I waited 13 weeks for a handgun transfer.
