Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

this just in from the CSAAA

^Wow!

Unless they do something BIG to streamline it, folks will wait OVER a year for their restricted purchase made anytime recently...

That's completely unacceptable.

Lmao, which retailer? so fast.

It's not the retailers. It's the CFO's office.

They were a month behind on transfers in Ontario before Trudeau announced the freeze. They're backlog since was like 19,000. They are getting something like 500 a DAY now and are clearing just over 500 a WEEK, so they aren't making any progress.

Ya OK long weekend got it!
The trail to grandmas house is long but not that way!

I said I got shipping notification email from the retailer this morning. 3:48am this morning to be exact. I never claimed it was the transfer was completed on the weekend. Could have been done Friday and the retailer just created the shipping label this AM

500 a week, eh? Looks like that chart from awhile back is spot on then. The first batch was 590 something and predicted 8 days to process.

Seriously though Ontario truly needs a solution to this. A process that may take more than a year is unacceptable and filled with potential pitfalls. I mean what happens if someone who orders a gun forgets about ordering it and it is delivered to an address they moved away from. What if a person dies waiting? Also what about a business that sells a gun but goes out of business / owner dies? So many things can happen.

thats what the liberals are hoping for

Wow 500 a week eh. That would calculate out to 72 + weeks (1.5 years) before I get my gun ordered in mid August.

That's exactly what "Wolf" estimated in his excel spreadsheet he had it down at 87 to 100 per day 100 x 5 days 500 per work week. that was the one wild card I always wondered about he was spot on so the rest of his calculations are probably correct too some of you will not get your purchases until 2024 :(

I just ordered a new toy and got a warning from the retailer:

For transfers in Ontario, we are expecting approvals to take a MINIMUM of 4 months, and quite possibly longer.

Maybe I will see it in the Spring..

I also tried to get an ATT - it took about 3 hours. If the same folks are doing both transfers and ATT's, I am sure that they are a bit busy

I have a strong suspicion we're in for a surprise in the next couple weeks. I don't possibly see a scenario where socks would miss the opportunity to gloat on national tv about how he stopped tens of thousands of transfers from being approved (however illegal it may be), for public safety of course. A$$hole.

You raise a very valid point here. Like you say "However illegal it may be" this has not stopped our tyrannical government from doing illegal things in the past that makes them look better in the eyes of their own uneducated liberal voters. These idiots will do whatever they can to create more ciaos and division in our country.

I order one from a local store last week in the GTA and they advised me to realistically look at late 2023 and even into 2024. I can't get angry at the shop its the CFO who is dropping the ball.
