What is the coolest feature about the SKS

main fault is (lack of) accuracy...(though i find it accurate for it's intended purpose)
and maybe detachable mags?
not counting cheap factor
it's reliable (no argument, one of the most reliable semi's anyone has owned!)
takes stripper clips (lightweight way to carry rounds, better than single loading, and stupid reliable)
takes down easily (cleaning kit/rod well thought out!)
bolt hold open
light recoil
easy to operate
scary bayonet

What's the word used to describe 'the other side?' I know what a fudd is, and I know what the opposite of a fudd is (every time I look in the mirror). as it seems that Canadian shooters are split down the middle, I am curious if 'we' have a tag as well.

We don't necessarily need to try and end this division, but it would be nice to accept it and use it to our advantage.

Because above everything else, we're all firearms enthusiasts; and lack of a unified front, is why C68, still 'is'

Great first rifle for a beginner, doesn't kick hard, ease of takedown, modding is easy, fun project. Ammo cheap, ever since holding and using one in the CFSC i knew i would end up with at least one. My petite blond wife even likes it, which makes me like it even more :)

You know the rules you mention a blonde you have to post pics.

sorry to be off topic, but you need to tell the fudds this, they are the ones hating on our guns, we shoot all guns, they do not feel many are necessary, just like anti's.

on topic.... if jerry miculek thinks sks's are cool, then they must be cool!!

A fun, simple gun to get into. Easy to care for. Easy recoil. Lots of history. A pleasure to own. And cheap. And,...and...ok, now I'm gushing.

It's the best value rifle on the market. Cheap to buy, cheap ammo to shoot. Highly modifiable, there are many upgrades available for the SKS. But really what alot of us like is the historical aspect of owning one. The first thing every one does when they get one is they hit CGN or facebook to see how "rare" it is.

You can leave it out at -40 overnight and come back in the morning to an operational gun.

It's a $200 semi that will out-shoot me for most practical purposes.

i find mine is acceptable accurate, at 200 yard, with a 12inch target, free style, 10 shot, i can manage 6.

For me, I think the coolest feature is how the cleaning kit container becomes the handle for your cleaning rod. Seems silly but I find it interesting how it was designed to be completely taken care of in the field.

The cleaning kit is a model of simplicity and usefulness. I wish every rifle's designers put as much thought into the functionality of the cleaning kit as Simonov and his cohort did.

Coolest feature? Rock solid reliability I suppose.
