I recently bought a Howa 30-06. I've only shot it 3 times, and I've never taken it hunting. By your method of reasoning, I would be unable to determine it's suitability for hunting because I have no actual hunting experience with it.

Do you not own this anymore ? I sourced a sling, my bolt handle isn't shiny like yours, bit of bluing needing to be touched up on the bolt and bolt handle.
Any source for the front sight tool ?
Well..... Sticking to my basic logic .... If you have never used or fired a basic bolt action designed for a hunting rifle in a time honoured hunting caliber, and don't know how to properly clean and maintain one I would say yes, you have much to learn.....
But we both know that isn't the case don't we?......
