whats with the hate of for NEA?

Some folks had bad experience with their Generation 1 rifles. I actually own a Gen 1 10.5 set up for CQB. The bloody thing will put rounds in a nice ragged 4-5 inch group (red dot sight) at 100 yards all day and I have not had a malfunction of any kind yet. Round count is about 1000 so far. I love that they are made right here in Canada and I've heard a lot of good things about the Gen 2 rifles so they must have straightened out their process since the Gen 1's. So yeah, I'd buy one again.

This sums it up... AFAIK one big problem was they got burned with some crap BCGs they bought offshore. To be fair, they did replace all the junk ones without a fuss. Gun owners have long memories!

Their rifles continue to have the occasional QC problem, sometimes quite serious. There was also an incident early on where apparently they had sock puppet accounts on here pushing their wares. Finger pointing for shilling got pretty extreme, even I was accused at one point.

I had a Gen1 rifle and it was never a problem, and I found it to be very accurate. Eventually sold the upper because I decided it was ridiculously heavy and I didn't need the rail space. Still have the lower.

I was looking at buying a 7.62x39mm upper from them. But i choose to build my own, its amazing.
All american parts, I wanted to support canada. I was looking at nea or atrs

My personal experience with NEA products is their design, they need to spend more time on the prototyping and product testing.

my first purchase was an XCR stock adapter, the configuration was way too low for a proper cheek weld. I also picked up the 2nd gen adapter, they fixed the height problem but the whole thing was way longer than needs to be, they also added QD sockets on either side of the adapter however the one on left hand side is perfectly inline with the charging handle, so it was pretty much useless for anyone who is a right handed shooter.
Just recently I decided to give NEA another try and bought a set of their 7" hand rail, it clamps on to the barrel nut with two setscrews, it is a very simple and effective way of securing the hand rail however instead using a nut a bolt they simply tapped the tabs and screw the hex screw right into the aluminium rail, so it is just a matter of time before they are stripped, also they didn't have a slot in front of the forward screw to give it a bit more flex, so if you are trying clamping down the handrail you will run the risk of stripping threads.

Because 75% of people on CGN hold grudges and they live in the past. They are unwilling to just let it go when NEA finally figure out that they had to pick up their slack and get their crap together.

We have to realize that when the model T first came out, it didnt get 50mpg (probably went only 50 miles and the it crapped out), but as their manufacturing and experience matures, so did the quality

I replaced a few parts on my 10.5 carbine (BCG (spikes), buffer (H), buffer spring, ejection port cover) and the trigger group (my choice....I do love Geissle triggers!) to carpet bomb a failure to eject problem. Whatever I replaced fixed the problem, and now it runs fine, and is a tank! Oh, and NEA replaced my railed handguard with the new gen one, for free, from the old kind that had the pinch bolts on the side due to it having movement up and down. The new one is rock solid.

Take from that what you will....

I have seen only one NEA make it through a range session without issues. Most are due to poor tolerances and poor QC. This is NOT a thing of the past. I decided to give one of their CCS stocks a try. Could not install it since it wasn't built to milspec like they claim to be. So I'm waiting for them to solve the problem. This was a brand new, latest gen model. I measured everything and my lower was built to perfect spec.

I bought one recently and have about 1000 rounds through it with no problems. Was a bit surprised the controls aren't ambi, that's my only real complaint. If I have problems in the future I'll post about it.

I should probably clean it at some point.

I took advantage of it and got their lower and later on an upper and made a diy AR with CGN forum spare parts. I still love my frankenAR and have never had a single issue with it. I paid about 120$ for the lower and upper. MY whole AR cost about 600$

I think I have a NEA upper and lower and handguard, DPMS trigger / small parts kit, a Winchester Bolt carrier, bolt handle I can't recall the brand, a green mountain barrel and geissle gas block and gas tube,.

I'm really just writing it down because I don't want to forget and now it's immortalized on CGN

Bought a later Gen 10.5" complete gun. No issues to date and its got ~ 2500 rounds thru it.

Their early gen guns had issues but show me a new company that builds its own products that has not had issues. Some people got sooky and whiny about it and just can't let it go. Both the OEM and their retailers supported / continue to support the products. If all gun owners acted that way in the past there would be no manufacturers around at all today......

NEA is an NEA... I don't pretend it to be a Novske, KA or DD..... that being said it's no worse than any other out there and sale pricing is attractive.

when i bought my barrel and bolt from canada ammo, the bolt didnt come with the extended firing pin that it was suppose to. FB msg them right away, got my firing pin in the mail the next friday.

when i asked about the new (third) gen handguards and the VZ rail couple months ago, they replied me back the next business day. All 3 emails/ msg were sent using different credential and methods. must be the way i presented myself and they see that i wasnt whining

Customer service is a joke... Rude and straight up disrespectful. I won't so much as buy a screw made by them.

Really? I know Jeff personally and I cannot imagine him acting in any way like that. He is one of the nicest people I have met in this industry and that is saying something as the gun industry is full of sharks.

^^ this. It was bad back then, every other one that was sold were crap. But right now with the gen2, its a pretty good rifle.

That's like 5% of the problems NEA's have had and STILL have, because they are still putting out crap.

Ford still has a long way to go
