7x57. With 140-150 gr. bullets it will reach out to 300+ yds; with 175 grs. it makes a pretty good brush gun, and it doesn't need to weigh any more than a 30-30.

12ga with 600gr brenneke gold slugs
50 cal mzl with 338gr platinum pb
When I can get into a centerfire rifle season my 2506 with 117gr interlocks for open fields and my 4570 double for in the brush and stalking. My 2 favorite calibers are the 2506 and 4570

My Favorite is 270 win for WT's....it just seems to pile them up so well. They didnt' really seem to notice last year when I tried 6.5-06 :)

To change things up 25-06 Ackley improved this year, Probably use 100gr. TSX if they shoot.

they probably wont' take notice again.

.270 Win. If I'm patient, most shots are no further than 150 yds, but the main field I post up in is 350 yds across. My only other choice I'd be comfortable with is the .257 Wby. Magnums are good, but I find the 270 & 7MM mags can make a unnecessary big mess if you're a little off. (I also shoot heavy for caliber weights in a magnum)

This Sept. will be using the following for my deer hunts:
- .30-30 using 160 grn. Leverevolution (hand loaded) w/ Win 748 via my Marlin XLR
- .308 Win using 165 grn. Hornady FMJSP Core Lokt (hand loaded) w/ Varget via my Savage Axis

i haven't used the same gun since i started buying guns. i don't think i had a rifle more then a year, i do seem to like the 270 wsm barrel that i had to talk off the gun to sell the action. so right now my options are 7 rem mag in savage 116 or rem bdl ss or in a ruger mark ii 7wsm

Have used 25-06R the most, but ideal to my mind is a pill with a little more weight and easy on the shoulder -- like the "good first gun for wives and kids" 7-08 rem 140gr.
