Good, but not as accurate as I was hoping to be honest.

I'm going to try some better ammo through it and see if I can tighten it up.

This is a Chinese military Type 56. The pistol grip has been moved forward to improve the rifle's balance

The trigger guard doubles as the magazine release

yet another bad-ass canadian sks- my TRS-25 needed blue locktite to stop it from unscrewing, have you had any issues with yours?

I can't remember, it's been a while since I've shot it, I just remember being disappointed.

I have been doing some work on it trying to keep the op rod from sticking back after the last round.

I'll try to take it out soon with some better ammo and maybe take some pics of how it shoots.

At 100 with MFS SP and Barnall FMJ. It's about the same with Fusion and milsurp. Pretty bleh, and that's from the bench. The barrel is probably done.

This one's my favorite! If you fon't mind me asking; How did you do it?

^^ For the stock i stripped it with a varnish stripper, then gave it a light sanding. Then i used a little bit of walnut gel stain, followed by about 10 coats of tung oil.

For the barrel, receiver etc- i stripped the blueing with white vinegar, 1500 grit wet sanded where i could, and dremel polished the hard to reach places, then hand polished with plain old automotive polish. Pretty easy to do, just a little time consuming

I really like the worn finish on Rohner's SKS too. It looks great.

i usually shoot my Chinese more then this one, but it has been out in the snow a few times since did the work on it. Haven't had any rust / dulling issues at all. I think as long as it gets a regular cleaning / wipe down after use it should be fine (and maybe a quick polish once a year..)
