Not to self,..never do it again...
ha ha, dam near same thing happened to me in nanaimo only mine was cased even! i walked in and threw the case on the counter in the hunting dept, opened it up and it was like someone yelled BOMB or something... gun had no bolt and a cable lock through the action and im surprised nobody called the cops. not exactly the kind of response you'd expect in a place that sells guns is it???
Mike if i saw someone that looks like you carrying a gun into a storeI would be scared too.......

Never a problem in Grande Prairie for me. I don't carry my rifle in uncased though...went in two weeks ago for rings, had the rifle in the case, bolt in but trigger lock on. Walked in and went to customer service to check in just like the sign on the door says to. They called someone from the hunting dept, he took me and rifle to the back, and we fitted rings, found Butler Creek caps for my scope, ammo....and away I went. Certainly no excitement or angst from anyone. Very helpful and knowledgable staff (for the most part). Prices are fair to good.
Grande Prairie...
I'm not real familiar with wholesale Sports...this year was my first time in one I think..
Anyhow, I have been in the Grande Prairie one a few times and today I wanted to try some gear on a rifle...mainly a bipod and scope..
I go in, no bolt in the gun, trigger lock on and holding it muzzle down trigger up...
Well holy s**t...
Someone started yelling "wait !!!! wait!!!!" and then someone else started calling for a manager...
So I go over to the people yelling and put the rifle on the counter. Then the hunting dept manager comes down and I explain I am looking for a scope, mounts possibly a bipod. He said," well you can put your gun back in your truck, (do I drive a truck ?) and we can get those things.
I said I wanted to actually try the stuff on the gun...make sure it was what I want...
ohhhhhh he says.. so he carries my gun.
Instead of putting it on the counter in a mount or something, we go up and down the aisles getting the stuff and try putting it on the gun in the middle of the aisles on the floor.
Now if that guy is a member here, I will saythat he was super helpful and did a good job,..but for a hunting and shooting store, I was disappointed with the overall process.
