Nothing wrong with the 6.5 Creedmor but it doesn't do ANYTHING that the 6.5x55 Swedish does and it has been around for over 120 years. An exercise in marketing but I guess you could say that about most new cartridges introduced in the last 50 years. We all (including me) like to have something different and no fault in that.

Cool! Was this local in Winnipeg (I see were in the same city)? I got some online awhile ago but still have to setup my scope, so haven’t tried it (or any of my 6.5 lol) out.
Low BC and speed. The Creedmoor is having an identity crisis.
Hmm, looks like a certain Northern European cartridge......![]()
It does, I feel like this is the "hipster in a tweed jacket" look for the Creedmoor. Adds a bit of class.
Yes, Cabela's actually had some 6.5 ammo on the shelves today! Not much, but there was a half dozen boxes left after I grabbed one.
isn't the creedmore a necked down 300 savage , loaded to higher pressures ?
Legit question, if the 6.5CM was the cats ass for target shooters why does everyone winning still use 6mm?

National course is where the Creedmoor got its start, and a 6.5 will still win over a 6mm in F/O all things being equal.
There are still a lot of shooters using the 6.5 Creedmoor in PR C/ PRS from what I have been told.
The truth is ,the people winning are winning because they are good shooters, it wouldn't matter what they were shooting .

Guys who hate the 6.5 Creedmoor do so because they can't afford to buy a new rifle.

No, not the case for many; I bought a new 6.5 x 55; could have paid less and got a nice (used, as there are lots of them out there) Creedmoor, but I wanted what I want.
True story, I went to the club one day and there was a guy with a new Creed and not having much luck even printing on paper. I helped him out getting him on paper. I jokingly aske him why the Creed instead of the Swede and he told me he had one and could not get on paper with it either (Iron sights only); I asked if he wanted to sell it as I was willing to take a chance on it, and he gave me a good deal on a surplus M38 with cut stock. I picked up some dies, bullets and brass, and made up some loads, and not sure why, they all went on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, first try.
Lots buy the 6.5 creed based on hype, and look for it to fix their accuracy issues, when the issues are not always the tool, but often are the operator.
