Ok guys tell me why I should not buy a FX 9 from Wolverine for $1,399. + tax. List all the cons that are real and the pros for those that have the carbine.

ps If you have a gently used one for sale PM me.

Because it's probably going to be "banned" soon so you'll be out $1500 and have a gun you can't use until they figure out how to take it from you...

That said... I bought one a few weeks ago.
The trigger is craptastic so I replaced it.
Fun little PCC, but I fear it's days are numbered.

Your going to want to trick it out which is more dollars, store bought 9mm ain't so cheap

I reload but primers are scarce and now expensive, powder is more expensive and wheel weights are now made of zinc. You would think somebody out there doesn't like guns.

If you are trying to convince yourself not to buy the gun, you must not like guns

I convinced myself a number of years ago buying a hooker was not a good idea. That doesn't mean I don't like ##### I am just a bit more particular as to where I spend my money.

You sound like me trying to talk myself out of buying a new gun. Trust me, it won’t end until you get it, and if you miss your chance you’ll regret it. Lol

My only con is I find mine is picky on the magazine it likes, it likes the sgm magazine it comes with and pmags. Original glock mags won’t catch the bolt after the last shot. Not a big deal.

Ps, my FX9 is my new go to for fun.

A lot of folks seem to sh!t on them, but I haven't regretted mine for second. I ran it a bunch in its stock configuration until I decided I liked it enough to trick it out a bit more. Threw a flat buffer spring and a heavy buffer in it that smoothed out the recoil impulse, and upgraded from the mil-spec trigger. I stocked up on 9mm when it was plentiful and much cheaper so I've got some time before I feel that particular pinch.

It's a nice little do-all carbine, especially if you like AR ergos. Mine really likes the Hornady Critical Duty 135gr FTX, which I use for pest/predator control on the property. It is also one of my go-to guns should something go bump in the night. Other than that it has been a good range/pit plinker that has run extremely reliably for me. It doesn't have the fancy Ruger emblem on it, but that only seems to matter on the internet.

Buy one for the right reasons and enjoy it.

Only three cons that I found with the one I had. Apart from inflation adding $300 to the price in 2 years.
Buffer - way too light for a blowback PCC, and it's an ultra-cheap POS that shakes itself apart. The roll pins are well known to work their way out in 100-200 rounds. Spend $40 and put a H3 in, it makes a very noticeable improvement to the smoothness/felt recoil and reliability.
The charging handle is small and kinda crappy, and the improved one isn't worth buying. AR ones wont work. Nickk builds one for the fx9 that looks like a full size Raptor, not sure if he still makes them.
The springs in Glock mags are too weak to usually trip the bolt catch. Pretty much everything else worked fine though. Mine really didn't play nice with full 10rd Glock mags, first round often jammed. Had no issues with the bigger pinned mags.
Alot of us #####ed about our gen 1s, but nobody seems to complain about the new ones. Having spent a pile of time with other cheaper PCCs it's still the best you can get under $1400 IMO. Way better ergonomics than the Ruger and JRC.
Now, taking the risk of spending $1400 with our communist government in control is entirely up to you. The Liberals want total disarmament, so your bolt guns and pellet guns aren't safe either.

I had one and did like it but I shoot left and didn’t like getting blasted in the face with burnt powder residue so sold the rifle

Pros - super duper fun and awesome.

Cons - you'll almost certainly want to change the trigger right off the hop and then may be tempted to start adding other bits and pieces to make it perfect. Total cost sunk into it will potentially be around the $2000 to $2500 mark all-in.

Recommended parts:
Triggertech FX-9 Trigger (or other trigger upgrade)
H3 Buffer
$1.50 in canuck quarters in the buffer tube
Techwell Magwell
Upgraded stock (I went Magpul CTR)
Pistol grip (like an MOE grip)
Optics and irons

You forgot the Nick K Charging handel...

OP, get one. You know how it goes. If you don't like it you can always sell it.

One thing Iam pondering. I may already have a banned carbine that did not require a hoast of upgrades to function well. This gun sounds like it should be a grand option not north of $1,500. I may have to adjust my thinking. I agree with those who think this carbine will become a back alley gravel pit rock breaker.
Ill decide tomorrow morning.
