First lets understand I know virtually nothing about the AR platform. Had no real use for one personally, so I never bought an AR. This means I had to look in the FX9 manual to confirm which pin to push out to open up the upper from the lower. The gun is bone dry so tomorrow it will get lubed. I discovered through trial and error how to return the upper to it's proper place on the lower, played with the bolt carrier puller thingy, noted the safety positions and dry fired the trigger. Hey, it wasn't as bad as some implied and will be completely useable and even better after following Riflechair's suggested 10cent trigger job. I am Kean to get to the range tomorrow PM and drop some rounds down range. The gun will initially wear a Vortex red dot off my Kidon Kit. I am no rifleman for certain so I doubt the gun will change much from the guns factory configuration. I'll get some quarters from the Bank tomorrow as that seems to be a cure for any possible reliability issues I may run into early on. The gun will get a couple of hundred rounds down range before they get put into play. My expectations for the myself in PCC are not high. I would be over the moon if I manage Sharpshooter in IDPA with the gun. Tricking out the trigger, installing new springs, trigger group and buffer tube will do nothing to get me there faster. Now if you have a newer set of reflex's, a spare vertebra or two and a set of much younger eyes I am all ears...the saga begins. Progress, as it appears will be noted here. Take Care

If the business folds, the sales records is then transferred to RCMP, alternatively if the cops want the sales records, they can get it too. So if you are the first to buy the NR from a business, you better have it in your possession, won't be so easy to sell it to someone at the gas station like I have done many times.
This is my first NR purchased from a retailer since the rules changed on May 18. It is in my possession, if I want to sell it, I have to request a reference # from the RCMP.
Enjoy! Its a fun firearm. I managed to achieve SS with mine, but that was before the latest classifier changes.

theGazelle ok. the gun will not see any 115 gr bullets but will get 125 FMJ. 125 and 147 gr. plated and lead cast bullets. I sure it will be fine. AFAIK the gun will never know what type of bullet is going down the tube. None of my other PCC'a have moaned much. :>)
I too have heard bolt lock back tends to be mag specific. I have a number of mag variations used in my Ruger PCC so I will try them all. Did you do the quarter in the tube thing?

Spent part of today loading and another checking my Glock Mags in my FX9. The Glock 17 and Glock Compact (nio idea what the model number is) mags all failed the llock back test. The springs appear to be quite weak. The springs are significantly lighter than my M&P mags.
So with that in mind I cut out three pieces of Amazon cardboard box material, fit them for each of the three mags and inserted them below the springs but above the metal plate that sits just below the base pad. After fitting the cardboard in place I tested all three and each mag now holds the bolt back when you rack the bolt back with the mag empty. It seems to work. No telling for how long but will test it tomorrow. This "fix" if indeed it works is cheaper than replacing the springs. Will report back after 500 rds of use.
Now next up is an Optic. The Romeo5 is on sale for the same price as the Vortex Crossfire2. I have a Crossfier2 and am happy with it. How do you feel about the Romeo5.
RRH-01 and your Mate. It is pretty tough to play PCC in either IPSC or IDPA without one. No con there just the facts. Right now reloading my cast 9MM bullets is cheaper than buying decent .22lr ammo. In any even the biggest Con in Canada is the Trudeau/Blaire Con supported by the little girl doll Freeland and her trip down the condescending trail of BS she spews.

Mags first l. I used a metal punmbssech. Silp it in the hole in the base plate. Angle it towards the frontof the plate and pry the base plate in the direction to remove the plate. You have to catch the metal plate that sits between the spring and base plate. Stick your tongue in your right cheek. It helps. Swear a couple of times as well. The plate will begin to move.
I am no gunsmith and don't play one on tv. Does this happen when you have a mag in the gun? Removed but locked back by the mag follower or set by pushing the mag release to lock the bolt back? If by the mag it might just be case of the follower not pushing the mag catch enough to completely engage the bolt. If it is holding the bolt by a thread the bolt could just be sliding off. Like I said I am no gunsmith, thoughts?

Yeah, it's gone off in between mag changes - so no mag in the carbine. As for how it is locked, sometimes is it locked on last round bolt hold open, sometimes it is locked when I manually engage it. No rhyme or reason. The weird thing is it goes off when the gun is literally not being touched.
Corrected some spelling in my post you quoted. Sorry typing on a phone is not my forte. No much better on a laptop but the screen is bigger. :>).
Just bought the Sig Romeo5 after your post.
