Customer Service is a hit and miss sport these days. You were expecting honesty/integrity from a place that has a reputation for NOT delivering. Why are you so surprised?gregc said:actually, am not sure why expecting to pay the price marked on the items is setting my expectations too high. also, perhaps you could tell me how my expectations are too high when i'm quoted a price over the phone and then drive 45 minutes only to find out the phone price is a mistake because it's too low.
perhaps this is how it's done in ontario, but here in alberta, a bit more honesty/integrity is generally expected. as other posters have mentioned, we do believe/expect some customer service out west.
I used to do that - get PO'ed and take my business elsewhere because I thought I deserved more service/respect than I was getting. Until I ran out of options and ended up back where I started. Reasonable expectations tempered with good negotiating usually results in a satisfactory conclusion in my experience.
