Thanks for sticking up for me Prosper. And Ugly I said prices are a little higher not 400% higher. I'm not sure if you have shoped at both stores but if you haven't you should and then tell me I'm out to lunch.

$1.10 would still be too much for the livid tightwad that started this topic, or for better words, childish rant!

Hell, once he settles down he'll be back in Wholesale Sports before you can say "City of Champions"!

I can only imagine how he must treat the gas pump jockey if gas goes up 2 or 3 cents from the previous day! Does he rant at the pump too? Grow up pal.

Why pay more barktwid, it's like a tax for stupid shoppers!

Everybody comes to Wholesales first then the other ones cause WSS has a better deal supposively..When I know WSS doesn't have it in stock, I would go down to the other ones instead of giving my disatisfaction online..

I support P&D & others in this city and give them my business no matter the price. You can order from Ebay etc..however you have to support your local gunshop in order to keep the balance on our beloved endangeroured sport.

And Wss isn't the local gunshop. It's a corporation like Walmart or anything else. Ugly, you called Greg a tightwad? Well guess what? So am I. And if the price of somthing is marked at one price, and the checkout rings it in at a higher price, I'll bit#$ too! I'm not foolish enough like some others to eat the price difference when the lowest price rules. That's how it works. Go to Crappy tire. If you find a sale price on an item, but the sale is over, guess what? Your going to get it for the lower price. That is how they manage to tick off customers, and keep them comping back. Just for you other guys, how about a suggestion to Wss. A big bottle of vaseline at the front door, just to make sure you get the best deal possible.:slap:

I guess I am willing to pay more for fast honest service from knolageable people that remember me every time I shop at there store, and are willing to go the extra mile like call suppliers and special order items that they normaly woulden't stock just to make me happy. That is worth an extra 10% to me. I'll ask again, Have you shoped at the two places I mentioned?

A friend just bought a Ruger M77 in 270 from P&D after walking out of WSS because of a salesman with a piss poor attitude.

When there is personal names being called like ''Dave George'' etc..I get involved, if he's such a man, he could have talk to him again or the head supervisor at the store instead whining on a website like a little kid.

Not to sure how long you've been a mod, maybe you should lock this thread before it gets out of hands.

Mr. Airborne, i'm not certain who actually is responding or 'whining like a little kid' as i've kept all my comments appropriate and have refrained from namecalling and/or posting silly family pictures. i'm wondering if you've thought of this, but your poorly considered responses/reactions to my posts and picture postings (which have since been removed by the moderators- thanks!!) have continued to reinforce the notion that wss staff don't really give a sh#t about customer service at all. if this was my place of employment, i'd be doing big time damage control right now to ensure a little issue like this doesn't quickly escalate into a larger issue, which this already has. at this time, there's been about 1,700 hits on this thread which is great advertizing for other gun stores in edmonton and not as good for wss. if reading this thread causes even a small percentage of these 1,700 readers decide to shop elsewhere in edmonton for their gun/shooting supplies, then you've really shot yourself and your store in the foot by continuing to shoot off at the mouth.

you've commented earlier about why the customers need to support their local gunshops to keep a balance on the sport. well this is true but support is a two way street and why should i continue to spend big bucks at your store to get sh#tty service and have you respond by beaking off with silly comments and pictures that further support my contention that you and your staff really don't give a #### about serving the customer. why does p/d have such great customer service and you guy really suck at this. like i said earlier, you've saved $20 but have lost another $10,000 to $15,000 over the next decade that isn't coming out of my pocket as i'm not shopping at your store anymore.

actually, i did ask to speak to the store manager in my conversation with mr george, during which time he quickly identified himself as "one of the managers" so i dealt with him. during our conversation, i also told him that i wasn't happy with his service and would be specifically posting on the cgn forum. his comment back to me was a shrug of his shoulders indicating to me that he wasn't too concerned. great customer service!!!

perhaps you could do me a huge favour and mention this thread to your actual store manager at wss as well as your area/province manager and have them read this entire thread as well. as mentioned, i plan to make a hard copy of this thread and forward it to both managers. given the overwhelming # of less than positive comments about your store's service that have been posted here in less than 24 hours, you guys may want to take your customer service a bit more seriously remembering that customers like me pay your wages every time i walk in and/or don't pay your wages when i walk out of your store without buying anything due to your poor service. perhaps this thread in particular and customer service in general could be a topic for one of your staff meetings if you have them?

"grow a #####" "livid tightwad" "childish rant" "grow up pal" oh my goodness, please go back and carefully re-read my initial thread as your comments have repeatedly indicated you've missed the point entirely. as i've tried to articulate, i'm tired about the sh#ty service i've recieved from wss over the past couple of years and am doing something about it by 1) sharing my views in a public forum, and 2) refusing to shop at wss anymore. we all have a choice we can make in deciding who gets our hard earned cash and i've made mine

i trust this is clear enough?? enjoy your shift at wss!!

gregc, you keep saying how this thread is bad for wholesale. guess what pal, the only customer they are going to lose is you and maybe a few others but i highly doubt it. mission succesful eh:rolleyes:

today at sobeys they didnt have any 4 packs of red bull on the shelf. i think ill start another thread "sobeys just lost a customer!" ya, maybe if i thought the world revolved around me and my time is oh so prescious.

why not give up and admit you are a whiner? but then again, i bet im not the only one gettin a good laugh;)

GregC: Noticed your editing your replies on this thread...Covering your tracks are we??
So you know the head guy from WSS is aware of this thread..You should come down & talk to him personally.

I can see both sides of the argument. As I've mentioned before, a very good friend of mine works at Wholesale, he is one of the most honest, forthright and no BS person I know. I often hear about his days at work and the bull#### he has to contend with from the idiots that come into the store dressed up in their camo gear during the "off" season. Loosers occupy BOTH sides of the counter, so gregc, I see your point. So why not you just simply not worry about the letters and all that jazz to the WSS managers and take your money over to P&D. You're not going to change anything anyways. Maybe your revenge will come when Cabella's comes to town. Seems to me the easiest solution .... don't it?:slap:

This is my point. At least he is standing for something. It's this "You're not going to change anything anyways." attitude that is the whole problem. Not just in the customer service realm either. Guys don't even vote anymore. Maybe if more of us took a definitive stand on things sh#t would actually happen.

editing replies to cover up tracks?? no, nothing quite so mysterious as that. a large part of my job consists of doing professional writing so i often tend to go back to compulsively edit and correct any typos, spacing, grammer, punctuation, and make comments that i think i should have done the first or second time around. i find it leaves a much better and hopefully more articulate first, second and final impression than posting silly pictures of your relatives playing banjos.

given the incorrect usage of "noticed your editing" in your post, which really should have been "noticed you're editing," you may want to get into this habit of editing replies as well.

your help in making your boss aware of this thread is greatly appreciated. thanks so much!! however, will not waste anymore time dealing with wss so perhaps he can pm me back if it's felt necessary to continue this dicussion further. i think i've made my point by starting this thread

enjoy your shift at wss. if things don't work out there, you can switch over to the counter @ tims, but i think you'd need to have somewhat higher standards with respect to customer service plus a clean t-shirt. tips and pay might be a bit higher in tims so you could afford to get your vw diesel fixed rather than being forced to sell it. hey, but if you're supposed to be on your shift right now, how can you be on the internet, remember what i said about customer service and keeping your job????

MESSAGE TO MODERATOR have spent far too much time on this issue, THANKS for your astute moderation, you can close this thread/rant now if you want to as i'm outa her and won't be responding back in this thread. "Beam me up Scotty!!"

ps, appreciate everyone's asute and well thought out comments, thanks again guys!!! Maybe this rant of mine and thread, with about 1,900 hits will get us better service at wss as i'd sure change things quickly if i was the manager at wss. this thread makes it pretty clear what people think about service at wss.

Wrong, you miss the point. Taking his money over to P&D, would have a greater effect and be just the same as casting a "NO" more getting screwed vote. Even better, if others in Edmonton followed his lead, think of the message being delivered. If I lived in Edmonton, I'd stand in line behind him at P&D. As it is, I live nearer to Calgary, but I have found out an awesome gun shop in Bashaw, and they'll ship. So I too can flip them the bird and talk to Pud in Bashaw. The point is in this case that the squeeky wheel won't get the grease.
