Why no SCAR or ACR export?

So people should not be allowed to make there own guns? or should there be a limit to how many they can submit?

The delays are intentional, created by the RCMP concerns over Henderson and 391.

Ohh sure they should be able to. But making dozens of almost identical models and keep re-submitting them for new FRT's? why? thats my question. If this guy is just messin' around and making sten guns for kicks and giggles, then its hurting the rest of us in an already unfavorable system.

If he was trying to design a Sten gun thats... more accurate, safer or something, if there was SOME reason to do it then fine, I understand. But why keep on submitting dozens of designs when he KNOWS it takes maybe a week or two to get the darned FRT! :p (again, however long it actually takes to do the process).

This guy is doing it to "stick it to the man" (again what I have been told a few guys) - and ALL of us waiting patiently to either A: Get Canadian made guns an FRT or B: get an FRT to import US guns (that may be on a finite time limit of availability) - get stuck waiting for the backlog of Sten guns to be issued FRT's...

Thats all im saying, is to not be selfish about it. Other people need to use the system as well, and BEING that the RCMP are being pricks about it, its not going to solve the issue by constantly sending in minor changes to a firearm design.

Im not trying to start a flame war or anything here, my point is that we all have to work with this horrendous system, and its not solving any problems by purposely sending in a bunch of designs to backlog it even more, ESPECIALLY when people trying to add to the community are prevented by doing so (again, my friend has been waiting for 2 months now trying to get his FRT for this .22)

What a perfect example of government intrusion crippling the free market. There could be plenty of Canadian designed firearms made here in Canada bringing in money from around the globe. Instead, entrepreneurs are discouraged by all the red tape and bureaucracy one must go through before even thinking of producing your own rifles. Then they have to risk the RCMP denying the rifle when they apply. Does the Army need the latest, high tech full auto? hell yes. will you be designing one? hell no. That's another monopoly the government has taken upon itself.

now THAT is the truth right there.... If only :(

Well IMO police agency's shouldn't be putting forth there own agenda.I watched Bill Blair on the CBC and he said it himself, however I believe that his own agency had a police sponsored website leveled against bill C-391.
The RCMP have a job to do, and a responsibility to perform it in a timely fashion. If your a RCMP member, pursue your personal agenda outside work. Give the taxpayer there "bang for the buck".The civilian SCAR''s are produced specifically for the civi market, its not a aftermarket conversion, aka its not "rocket science" and taking this long to CYA is BS.

Mind to point out what is the configuration difference? I see your US facebook account is advertising the gun some time ago. Thanks.

Export restrictions require a "custom" barrel (not 5.56NATO).

As for US facebook that has nothing to do with our Canadian office... our US office has lots of stuff for sale that can't be exported out of the US :)

When the war is over the US State Department may have a change of heart. OBAMA is planning for the post war economy based on export of munitions. To do this, he is changing the rules governing exports....maybe it may work in our favor...we can hope.

All of Remington's Rifle MSRP's are generally the same or less than their CDN MSRP.

What are the odds the Remington ACR will hold true to that. ???

It should be Under $1800 CDN

That would be great.. but I have my doubts. Odds are they'll be around $3k. I was actually hoping that the rumours were true of the ARX-160 coming in... and they potentially could if they changed the name and made it semi-auto only, then I wouldn't even consider the ACR.
