Would it be a mistake to buy a Heckler & Koch SL8 .???

Are shooters getting really good accuracy out of these ACR's with simple Dlask, Herron and ArmsEast barrels ? or do people really have to invest in the more premium barrels to get these MOA results?

The Herron arms and Questar barrels are the best from what I've seen. Keep in mind that those are made from stainless match grade blanks.
My custom made stainless non restricted 300blk barrel will shoot around 0.8moa with my 150gr handloads.
Unfortunately I still haven't had a good range day with my NR Questar stainless 223 barrel to see what it can do but all reports from others say they can shoot sub moa with good ammo. I have put quite a few rounds through it but no real testing and no load development yet.

Herron does chromoly as well. it is not just the barrel, it is how everything fits and tolerances they are machined to that also makes the difference

A lot of guys here are trying to steer you to a NR ACR. I have never owned one but they are a good investment from what cr5 showed me at the range one day. He offered me to shoot it but strangely I declined because he had so much work and money into it I was afraid to have something go wrong with it in my hands (odd eh?). It shot very good for him and was a solid rifle. I had an SL8 with a Hera arms lower. It was hands down the most accurate semi auto 223 I have ever seen. After working out a couple loads (stolen from hoggie and cr5). I was able to consistently shoot 1 MOA. I think the build is solid, It would take probably twice the use of an AR before part breakage and is very reliable (even with an AR magwell). The only reason I sold it was my job was/is taking my back from me and I could no longer hump the rifle around. After the Hera lower, bipod, 20x scope it weighed in at 13lbs.
