WOW! Chrome and Two Tone Norinco 1911 IN STOCK!!!

Disassemble and oil the rear sight is highly recommended. I found a lot of rust on mine. I also found a lot of carbon in the barrel, wondering if Norinco test fire their pistols.

I would assume they do. How else would you wind up with carbon in the barrel from the dealer?

Polished up some of the black parts, and repainted the sights to something more visible.

*EDITED TITLE, realized I had a angry face for some reason and no title*

I received my pistol today :)

It came with zombie targets, some CanAm targets, an issue of Calibre, and a m16 pen :) Fantastic and unexpected.

The service was great from CanAm as well.

Now on to the bad part....

It seems the slide is contacting the frame only on one side of the pistol. I noticed it out of the box because the slide had markings on it looking like the chrome didnt dry properly or was touched up.
I gave the gun a wipe down, and racked the slide a few times which showed it was definitely contacting the frame. :(

I do not think it will affect the functionality, but it is disappointing to have finish issues on a brand new gun which has never been fired, no less straight out of the box. On to some pictures....

One other big thing from this review... the trigger... my god is it stiff/heavy pull. I have another norinco 1911 gov't model from about 4 years ago, and it was never that stiff/heavy.
Hopefully some rounds downrange will work it in a little.

Great service again from CanAm, and not like they could see any type of finish defect like this through a plastic bag with an oil soaked gun, but disappointing to have blemishes like this on a brand new gun.

Based off this inital inspection, would I buy again, most definitely I would. I will try to post back with a range report if I manage to get out, but I think that is likely 3 weeks away.

Cheers!

And thanks to CanAm for bringing in great products at great prices! :)

I am not trying to make light of your problem, and I must say, you are taking it very well, don't know if I could. What I am curious about, and this my sound stupid, but where it was rubbed, did it take the plating off, or did it get shiny, as if it were polished. In the picture it looks like it might be a bit shiny, but you would know better because you can look from different angles. What I'm trying to ask is, do you feel this indicates that the finish could be polished to any degree to achieve some shine. I was just curious, also if it works, might be a way to hide the blemish if you polished the rest of frame. I'm probably wrong, but I felt bad that happened.

I had the similar problem of slide touching frame at the front. I just sand down inside the frame with 600 grit, it is not touching now. stick a piece masking tape to check.

I got a nice set of grips for a compact to bad I don't have any money for one! A well I guess il have to practacly give them away!

Does the compact take standard 1911 mags?
And do they take standard 1911 grips?

thanks.

New Commander next to older "sport" model. Cell phone cam, not the greatest.

I only field-stripped to clean last night so it's still stiff as they come. Planning to do a detail strip tonight. So far, I'm very happy with it.

Yes on both. Grip is the same on full-sized and compacts.

Here are some pics of my two-tone that I've cleaned up and put on some Hogue grips and an 8-round Dlask Arms mag.
The scratches caused by racking the slide are visible on the first picture below but hard to see clearly.

Generally my trigger seems the same as the other 1911 from Norinco. Unfortunately, this one says Made in China
and has the Norinco logo on it. The finish seems a bit better and not quite as "knife-like" as my earlier Norinco.
Inside, there are still some machining marks but not as bad as my earlier Norinco. Everything seems to have a very tight fit.
