Wrong rifle sent, no refund

Yes Seems so ! - Can you SHARE with us your POOR buying experience with them ? RJ

Google reviews has full details but lets just say I spent $2500 for shotgun that I received as an open item and had a cracked barrel support (unsafe fire arm...perhaps) Benelli and Stoeger took care of me and fixed the problem very quickly while I was told by FOC that sometimes they need to open items and they must have missed the crack......Even though it was cracked, I didn't pay for an open item I paid top dollar for a new item, and what i think happened, they opened it up seen the crack and repackaged and sold it to a customer for them to deal with......they also tried to play it off as if I was in the wrong.

You might be surprised at how little impact something like this has on a business . Just a blip on the radar that will be forgotten by most in a few hours ...and life goes on .

Exactly. Look at TSE. They should have gone tits up after what JR did to the community. People kept giving them money though. CGN even kept them as a site sponsor.

OP, based on my experience, you are doomed by posting here.
No matter what you do or say, it's always your fault. This is the logic of bunch of dealer-ass-kissers. They are on their way to condemn you (actually some of them have already done that).
Take care of yourself. :)

I ordered an EXPS2 from them once but instead of getting that i received a XPS2 that was in an EXPS2 box which was very strange. Contacted them through email and got it sorted out. IIRC they gave me a return label ship it back. Even though i got the wrong item, they at least sorted it out. ####ty to hear about what happened to your friend. Hope it works out.

That happened to me once a few years ago with FOC and they apologized paid for the return shipping costs and sent the correct Firearm out. I have no complaints BG.

Well if his wife is a lawyer why are you getting involved. If his wife can't deal with it I'm sure she knows someone who can.
TRUST ME no business wants to get a letter from a Lawyer. Majority of businesses < this one include> don't want to deal with a lawyer as it forces them to hire one. In this particular case exchanging the rifle or offering a serious discount on the incorrect one would be a no brainer as opposed to messing with a lawyer.

Like someone else said , this sounds a little fishy. Not saying anyone is lying but if his wife is a lawyer then there's something missing.
One call to the CFO or RCMP from a lawyer can cause this company a whole mess of crap. I don't see any sane store owner taking any chances over this especially since it was there error.

Question. Is the GEN1 cheaper than the GEN2? In most cases newer generations are more expensive. Was your friend charged the correct price for the GEN he received?

Was just about to ask the same. They guy is supposedly smart, with a lawyer wife - yet gets his buddy to go on a forum to complain on his behalf for an issue that couldn't be more cut and dry.

Hi

Can you please PM me the order #?

Firearms are final sale. I believe your friend ordered a Kodiak Defense Magpul edition which he received. We didn't ship the wrong firearm.

A personal friend of mine who is not on this site purchased a new kodiak defence gen 2 recently from you guys. He received a gen 1…when he contacted you, he was told no returns and no refunds….just want to confirm for my own knowledge and future buying that you do not honour your sales commitments.

Specifically: if I purchase a rifle from you, and the wrong rifle arrives (example gen 1 arrives and I bought a gen 2) will you refund and accept the rifle for return….

You do not need to comment on the first issue, however please answer the question.

Let your friend handle his own business.
You don’t know the full stories and I doubt he will tell you anything if he strewed up in any way.
He is big enough to order a gun, he should be big enough to explain himself HIS side of the story. Like we have seen many time in post like this, and 99.9 % , the dealer point of view - story-is quite different.

Really? Why on earth would I post this if it wasn’t real? I have been a contributing member here since 2008.

I'm not saying you're making it up, I'm implying that the error was made by your friend potentially ordering the wrong rifle from the website. Having dealt with FOC since their opening I've had nothing but top shelf experience. There are 4 options for WK rifles on their site - its not a stretch to believe the error is your friends and not FOC. If that is the case, then I can see why they would not offer an exchange or refund.

EDIT: I just read post #47 after continuing from the quoted post above, this is exactly what I was suggesting. Friend ordered the "wrong rifle" but was shipped the "correct rifle" based on the invoice. I don't think its unreasonable at this point that you post a copy of that invoice or a public apology on this same forum to FOC for letting your friend convince you to disparage a company without all the facts.

IF his invoice shows a GEN 2 WK rifle then I don't think you'll find a person on this forum that would disagree with you and your friends outrage.

So, is there a GEN 1 and GEN 2 ? Which one did you advertise for sale ?

Looks like on their website the picture is clearly a gen 1 and they never state it as a gen2, which makes sense.

If a listing doesn’t explicitly state it’s a gen2 I would assume it’s a gen1.

Don’t get me wrong the OPs friend could have been told verbally it was a gen2 or something, I usually like to get it in writing before I buy an expensive item.

This. Why would another grown up complaint for another grown up?? This alone is already fishy.

OP, ask you friend to send the picture of the online invoice that they received, and then you can post it here. As it stands now, just a hearsay.

Customer purchased this >>> https://www.firearmsoutletcanada.com/kodiak-defense-wk180c-223-18-7.html

After the fact said they wanted this >>> https://www.firearmsoutletcanada.com/kodiak-defense-wk180c-gen-2--5-56-nato-18-7--wk180-c-gen2-.html

We didn't mislead or ship the wrong gun to the customer.

That’s not the story I am getting. Either way as a business why would you not try and accommodate the buyer? He had agreed to ship back at his expense to get the gen 2….I realize your no return policy on firearms is for a reason, but a brand new in the box rifle returned to get the proper one at the buyers expense could be an option for you to retain his business and the countless others he will tell of this negative experience. It’s not like he waited two weeks and played with the gun, he opened the box and immediately contacted you and sent pictures….
Thanks for the reply as well.

I am not complaining, I am inquiring. I was more interested in the fact that if this is how they do business, than I personally will take my business in the future elsewhere. See the original post.

Well the story you are getting is simply wrong.

Okay, anything else to say about the rest of the post, about accommodating a loyal customer and retaining a good client relationship?

I saw the original post. Sounds like a complaint and an accusation to me based on hearsay. Why don't you post his invoice here (of course remove the personal information) to prove that they did order the correct firearm and FOC sent the wrong one. Your friend said one thing and FOC said the other. So since you are making the claim on behalf of your friend, the burden of proof is on your side.

Additionally, no stores that I know allow firearm return/exchanges. This is not new.

I can say that FOC allows returns/exchange on firearm accessories such as mag for example. I did this myself with no issue at FOC.

That sounds pretty cut and dry to me.

Exactly. I just wanted to be clear that basically if I ordered a rifle and there was an issue would you accept it back. The answer I am assuming is NO YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN…..
