WS-MCR - first look, just arrived.

Hey Guys, saw a few posts about replacing the buffer tube in the MCR. Is that a must? What would I gain with a different buffer tube? Pretty new to this.

From what Mike was telling me about his friend's new MCR, it came with a perfectly good Mil-spec buffer tube and an ill fitting(grey market?) magpul stock.

Handguard was also different, a nice 15" keymod type.

An aftermarket trigger fit nicely but he hasn't range tested it yet.

I have 3000 rds through mine, seems like a pretty decent rifle, I would suggest replacing the firing pin retaining pin with an ar-15 style one and checking/replacing it often if you need your rifle to be reliable.

I replaced my firing pin retaining before I ever fired it, great advice from this group. I had the WS-MCR out yesterday for the first time and pushed ~150 rounds of AA 55g down it. Never had any issues with it except a double feed that I caused on the very second mag change, after that, no problems at all. I was using the two metal mags that came with it and two Cross LAR 10 round mags. All fed and performed perfectly. I am pretty impressed with how accurate it is, even out to nearly 280 yards I was able to hit a plate sized metal target consistently and to the point where it got almost boring. I'd be very interested to see how others have found their WS-MCR's accuracy to be.

Where did you pick up the replacement firing pin? Just would like to know what brand fits on this rifle. I know it should standard AR style but you know how it is..

I didn't replace the firing pin, just the little retaining pin that holds it in the bolt. I get my stuff from True North Arms, a lot of things that fit on the WK 180 will fit on the WS-MCR. They're very quick at processing orders and shipping. I also just ordered an external bolt catch release from them as well, I believe it's the Kodiak version meant for the WK-180 but have read in a few places that it will fit the WS-MCR perfectly.

What are people shooting with this the 55’s 62’s

Thank you all

Still waiting for mine to arrive
1.5-2 moa ive heard
I'm gonna use Varget because I have some and use it for 7mm-08 also
I bought a bunch of bulk Campro 55 grain bullets.
I am not sure how it will shoot yet will have to wait and see.
Not like I'm staring out the window looking for the delivery man. Ok I am. Haha

Friend just went out shooting with his and said it refused to feed with even the slightest pressure on the magazine and he had a stoppage so bad he had to mortar the rifle and his cheap ass MFT stock snapped.

I become less and less impressed as the days go on

77gr SMK OTM
24.0 gr RL15
CCI 41 primers
Shoots well for me but is not overly temp stable, I have also shot these with Varget and it shoots as well although I have not finalized a load, but in my experience the 77gr OTM slays.

Thinking about one of these in 7.62x39. Has the overall reliability improved since release? What is a good source for a replacement retaining pin?
