$800 before taxes isn't too bad...Iunno I feel like if I start from a nicely prebuilt I wouldn't know where to go after that fro maftermarket haha.
I do want to try my hand at scratch building at some point but that STI Spartan V is nice...

Also Reliable Gun in Vancouver also Wanstalls in Maple Ridge. Any dealer can bring one in for you or you can order direct from Freedom Ventures in Halifax. Freedom Ventures is the Canadian Importer/Distributor for STI.

Cool. Will check those out!

In my head I'm thinking if I get the STI then I'll have a really nice shooter as per what i've read.
SAM is also a great choice which leaves me space to get more ammunition, reloading supplies and other likes.
Dilemma. haha

One of my friends,,old Colt guy, got one of CANAMMO's deals,,, "You know, that Chinese Colt works as good as any of my Colt's" But border wise,, probably not worth the hassle BUT, if your looking for a fun shooter,, go Norc!!

id disagree with the same being a great choice from my experiences (and my gunsmiths) with it

Agree or disagree? haha.

So right now while I wait for my paperwork to all go through;
Is either SAM (or maybe a Norc if I find one cheap enough)

Or STI or Para Ordnance or something through the EE.

On some of the USA 1911 boards, when they discuss the topic of what 1911 is closest to the WW2 version, many think the Norinco is the closest clone. If your looking for a WW2 style clone get a Norc.

typo :p I ment to say the SAM is a bad choice in my experience, and my gunsmith hates it alot more than I do

Sam! I have a SAM Omega 6 in .40 S&W and it is awsome and a Thunderbolt in .45 I just got but have not fired yet and they are a great value for the money!
