SR22 Rifle Questions

I have only put shrouds on threaded barrels myself, so I can't advise about the thread adapters, but I would assume this would be the cheapest option. If it were me, rather than pay to thread the barrel, I would consider selling the OE barrel and buying a shorter (8" bull or 12.5" tapered) threaded barrel from Dlask. Whichever you decide, I can recommend tacticool22.com and kineti-tech.com for the shrouds - both ship to Canada.
I seriously doubt you will notice any change in accuracy unless you replace the barrel.

Actually I called kinitech last week and told me they did not ship to canada. Thats weird.

Well that sucks, they must have changed their policy recently. It is a shame because they have a great variety of shrouds while tacticool22 has a very limited range. Please let us know if you find any other good sources of shrouds available to us Canadians.

Ok, what do you guys think,

I'm about to pull the trigger (pun intended) on a Dlask BBL. Now my question is, I'm kepping the original handguard on my SR and adding a 5 3/4 inch barrel shoud. Should I go with the 12,5 or the 16,5 barrel. I really want the shorter one of the two (12,5) but I'm scared that I wont see enough of the shroud at the end of the handguard. What would you guys go with, don't wanna be disapointed and going with the wrong one.

thx

I would go with the 12.5", but I guess it depends on how much of the shroud you want exposed. The 12.5" will give you approx....EDIT:actual measured dimension on my SR22 with a 12.5" barrel only projects just over 1" past the stock front Hand Guard

True but then i would have to do the same with the rails. Those kinda job scars me lol, lets just say working with saws and precision tools is not my cup of tea. I would probably butcher everything lol.

oh yeah, I cut the rails too, and finished the cut ends the same as the HG. I would not classify a hacksaw as a precision tool, but I chose it because it can be used in a slow & controlled. With an angle grinder or even a dremel, things can go wrong very quickly!

You can cut aluminum with a chop saw. I've cut 1/8 thick aluminum columns before, Not sure what blade I used. . ( it was at least 15 yrs or so , ago that I did it, worked great)

Any sharp carbide wood blade works fine but more teeth makes for a smoother finish. I spray the blade with silicone spray and let it dry for a couple of minutes before cutting to reduce buildup on the blade.
