SR22 Rifle Questions

Very photogenic! If you can, try using JB Weld. I've found it stronger than the LePages 2-part epooxy.

Thanks gcd, I like it better than the Archangel mag, but I think I still prefer the looks of your metal 5.56 mag. Somehow the markings on the Pmag make it obvious that the mag well is the wrong size and shape on the SR-22. I may try cutting the 30 round Pmag down to a 20 round size, maybe the shorter mag will look better.

Good to know about the JB weld, I will give it a try.

Actually I called kinitech last week and told me they did not ship to canada. Thats weird.

UPDATE, so I don't no why but when called there shop 2 weeks ago they told me they didn't ship to CND. But yesterday, I said F&?K IT, I'll try ordering a barrel extention and a shroud from them online. Well wouldn't you beleive it, just received my invoice that my order as just been shipped. So I guess its still a go for Kineti-tech. Now for the waiting part :/

Yeah I thought that was bizarre when you said that... I had ordered a few times from them online this year and always lightening fast service to Canada. I think you got a new or misinformed employee on the phone as I was informed that Canada makes up a big part of their business, so I couldn't see them abandoning this market anytime soon.

You are going to love their product, it's top notch stuff!

Very nice gcd!
I have lost track of just how many SR-22 builds you have completed, could you post a picture of each of your SR-22's please? I would love to see your entire collection all together.

I lose track myself! Some of these are still works in progress, I might have some updates after Xmas if Santa deems I've been nice:

Nice collection GC.

Curious about your 3rd and 4th rifles...what handguard (and length) and barrel shroud are they and where did you order from? Also, the bbl size?

I think you mentioned elsewhere that the 4th has a Hogue overmolded grip in Carbine length?

3rd: Ruger SR22 HG sawn down to 6.5", 10.5"bbl, Global Sportsman fake can (back threaded / extender type)
4th: Correct, Hogue carbine length (7" I believe), 12.5" bbl, Kinetitech 2-part shroud

Thanks for posting that gcd. You have a great collection and each one is unique. It is amazing the variety of builds you have, all with the same basic receiver and chassis. Plus you are making me feel better...I was feeling a little bit guilty about owning 2 SR -22s :)
So do you have a favourite?

I like the second one down from the top, GC. Details on that build?

Thanks! That was my attempt at a C-8'ish looking SR. The green furniture is from Tactical Intent. The buttstock & pistol grip are straightforward attachments. The 2-part HG requires a complete AR D-ring assembly and end cap. The front sight 'gas' block is for a HB AR, and bolts on. It provides the means to lock the HG in place. I also added a sling swivel to the FSB. Under the HG is a sloped pic rail, the slope keeps attachments (like the tapco VFG) more or less perpendicular to the bbl. The flash hider is some generic item with some washers to index it. The C79 is an airsoft clone , with around 3.5x magnification. It's not a bad clone...but it suffers from being as heavy as a real C79, and having really short eye relief. There's no tritium in it either.

I just realized the Nomad is not in the picture, but its not really a SR22. Hahha! Yeah, 5 is too many. I keep thinking I should sell one or two, but I can't decide which one(s), as you said, they are unique in their own SR22 way, and I'd probably regret it. Favourite flavour of the month is the OD Green Hogue. But even that one, I have a 10.5" bbl that is going on, and I'm tracking down a PGW mag release. The tinkering never seems to stop....plus if that BX1 mag adapter goes into production, I'll be for 3 or 4 of them too!

Flash Hider installation question

OK, so I tried to install my new AR-15 A2 flash hider on my Dlask 12.5" SR-22 barrel. I have a crush washer, and based on the name I expected to be able to tighten the flash hider and "crush" the washer slightly until the flash hider was indexed correctly. It does not seem to work. Can anyone enlighten me as to the correct procedure to index the flash hider correctly?
Thanks
TEG

You should be able to crush one of them one full rotation...I'll caveat that by saying I've never had to, and when I've really got OCD about indexing, I use peel washers.

Are those washers necessary, I put a flash hider on my fvsr but no washer. I haven't fired it yet, is this dangerous whitout one??

Here is my SR22, not finish (work in progress), need to intall my troy BUIS, and a magpul foregrip.

My understanding is that the crush washer or peel washer(s) are just to index the flash hider. In other words: to align the holes/slots so that they are pointing in the right direction. Many flash hiders are symmetrical and this is not necessary. My A2 flashider has slots that should be facing UP and a blank area that should be facing DOWN. However if I just screw it on, without a washer, the slots point sideways.

Nice looking SR-22 by the way. The shroud looks great.

thanks I'm pretty happy with it, but still lingering if I will cut the HG and get rid of the barrel extension. Time will tell I guess :)
