I'm not saying the Type 81 will be crap but we can't be 100% sure it will be a quality made firearm.

I'm on the fence to buy one but if i do :

1- I will handle one of the production run before I buy
2- It will have to be really well made if i have to pay a grand for it.

Again, anyone who thinks the Type 81 {and a beat up prototype at that} is poor quality based off looks alone should look at a typical AK; they're not visually impressive, even something like a $1150 USD Arsenal is finished like a WW2 STEN gun.

The East Bloc tended to put their money into technical details instead of glossy aesthetics.

That's not to say that the Type 81 will be a great gun, but writing it off because of appearances sake is premature.

Which country will made the Type 81 ? Oh I remember now, China...
That's why i'm worried.

The facts are, most of the stuff made in China is junk,
That been said, firearms seems to be the most quality stuff you can buy from China.
Norc 1911's are one of those things that are well made.

I had alot of Norinco/Chinese stuff in the past and I work in the field of manufacturing mechanical parts, I can tell you the craftsmanship , QC and composition of materials are often far from perfect/missing and in most cases are poor.

If it was made in other country, lets say Yugoslavia I would not even worry about the quality and preorder one right away.

Exactly.

I have a serious question for you guys :

Honestly, how much do you think it cost in USD to make 1X Type-81 rifle in China ?

PS : I know the more a factory make, the less expensive it cost to produce but I'm curious to see answers.

300$ max, But shipping, imports, dealer profit, Exchange, recoup initial investment. adds up quick.

I think you are not far from reality.

Imports BullshXX and Dealer profit must be where the price go up fast.

Shipping is by boat and its not that expensive.

Poor exchange rate sure don't help...

$34.50 lol (thinking of the Russell Peters joke XD)

realistically, Im gonna guess like $500 USD

I dont work for free either. :) so if they charge a premium for having them first so be it.

Free market will level out the prices if any other importers jump on the bandwagon later down the road.

Can wait to put in my Pre-Order tomorow :)

The Norc 56s came with sling, oil bottle, cleaning kit in stock, THREE magazines and sometimes bayone if it wasn't the spike type. I can't see how there would be a shortage of mags. That's confusing that they have to source those out later.

Chinese milspec guns, and premium commercial export products, are not junk. For example see how well Polytech AKs are regarded in the U.S. market:

That's not to say that TI's Type 81s are going to be built to high standards, but again, I wouldn't write them off at this point.

You aware of the Chinese ban in the USA for many years.
That's why Chinese firearms are rare in USA and that's also whit its worth that much, just because its rare.

I guess I'm all wrong and I know nothing about mechanical fabrication.
You must be right, China is always produced top quality items and facts proves it.
