Is it just me or did 500 rds beat that gun up pretty good?

Also, I never got an answer to my question about the legalities to a mounted gun... C'mon Dilli, surely you've looked into this already???? lol

Ouch, did that session ever beat the snot out of your firing pin and bolt roller! As for the reliability issues, that could be a function of the surplus ammo as well as something evidently out of spec with your "rifle". I had a CA MG34 with accessories back in the day for sh#ts and giggles. The ego gratification aside, I found that it was a huge pain in the arse to gather everything up, schlep it all to the range, set it up, fire a few hundred rounds full of stoppages, pack it all back up, then have to immediately detail strip and clean it back at home due to corrosive surplus 7.92mm ammo. I soon sold it with full disclosure to a fellow collector. Those CAs were priced under $1K back when anyone with a FAC could own one. The price is much steeper for these NR closed-bolt versions, so hopefully you will continue to enjoy it just as much as you did the first time out! Smart move buying through Wolverine Supplies, as John Hipwell will definitely make it right. Best of luck in troubleshooting and resolving the issue(s)!

I am very surprised to see this DILLIGAF. Can you itemize what parts will need replacing? Very very curious.

Cheers
Jay

The one pic looks like the front roller on the trigger assembly fell out
There should be two rollers on the trigger bar one in front and one in rear
Your firing pin is beat up cause it's hitting too hard, put an orig firing pin spring back in
The chewed up roller is usually from a bad bolt stop/ catch
If you look on the right hand side of the barrel shroud you will see a lever that the charging handle connects with. That piece lots of times will chew up the outside roller if it's in bad shape
Sometimes the cam on the barrel ext will too

Yeah, god those where the days when a CA was just a rifle or just a restricted and no big deal to take a CA Bren or 34 anywhere one could legally shoot rifle and Thompsons, Stens and MP40s had to be happy on a range. And one could buy with just the $10 FAC and NOT have the RCMP #### them around. I must have lucked out on my MG34(s) (had three) and the one I kept ran like a sewing machine. I do hear you about lugging a heap of kit to the range and spending the afternoon cleaning.

Today's Canadapost score...lol

Bipod was new in bag :) I still have to do some minor fitting to the adapter but its freaking cool none the less...

You must have some kicka$$ neighbours. Most would chit a dinner for six if they saw an MG in the backyard.....with a belt connected to it!!!!
That thing is wicked man. Makes me want to sell a kidney and buy one.

At least the belts for the 34 are easy to load by hand, now trying to load a cloth belt for a 1919.... that's where a loader would be really beneficial
