Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Just got a shipping notification of a restricted, the transfer of which was started on May 5. But nothing on another one started 2 weeks earlier on April 21. Weird.

EDIT: called CFO, they confirmed both transferred, yay!!! Can't wait to receive them and take them to the range.

Is there a listing available somewhere stating average wait times by province? Also, number of staff per province? It shouldn’t be hard to do the math and figure out what Ontario SHOULD be able to process.


Has anyone done a FOI request for the process they use? Like, some sort of way to determine low long it SHOULD take to process 1 transfer?

What about a cgn campaign that EVERY transfer that takes over 2 weeks we automatically file a complaint to the ombudsman. Surely with enough complaints flowing in SOMETHING will change... who am I kidding.

Just frustrated spitballing.

Gotta wait for that paper registration to take them to the range too, or do they email that now?

See post #710 for the transfer notification. It would be nice if they would email the registration paper but I guess that would be asking too much of them (sarcasm)
 
I waited April 10 to June 23. Oddly enough I called the morning of June 16 looking for an update and then the transfer was completed later that day. I also filed a complaint with the Ombudsman.
 
I am in 10 weeks already, sent email on status and got response, still trying to understand it
"Good afternoon

I have checked on this transfer and see that we have processed the transfer however it has gone to the registry for new registration certificates. As soon as they finish their process which should not be much longer we will send the Transfer Notification for your records"
 
Just received the email, transfer completed today and rifle has shipped!

April 30th - June 30th AB Dealer to Ontario

8 weeks and 4 days...

Only made one call 2 weeks to ago to the CFO for an update, no Ombudsman involved.

That was a wait but worth it now (I wasn't saying that for the past 5 weeks though)...
 
Just received an email this afternoon, finally approved for a BC to ON transfer from April 24-June 30, 9 weeks and 1 day. Just incredible the time it's taking. Hope others from around this time are done soon.
 
April 28 and still waiting , ont to ont . $2500 gone on the 28th of April and I still have nothing to show for it . I wanted another restricted but nah , ain’t doing this again
