Dominion Powders Now Available

Thanks for the test Ruger007. Looks like those 4064 powders are nearly identical, maybe the d4064 is a touch slower. Was the grain size of the imr 4064 a longer stick compared to d4064ssc?

I would say without getting the micrometer out that the D is slightly cut shorter but a bit thicker. Prehaps a slight change in color?

4064 would work well for 150-165 gr bullets in the 30/06. Heavier bullets probably 4350, but I haven't tried it.

I'm using D-4064 to make 147grn FMJ service rifle loads in .308. It does great at the lower pressures and comparing to bolt gun data you have a lot to gain if you wish. It should do very well with the -06 and lighter bullets.

Two five pounders ordered, is there a thread on work ups for the D powders? I know they are different per batch kinda why I got two containers, but something to get in the ball park.

My D4895 arrived today! I have been using H4895 in a couple 308's for a long time but I haven't been able to find it lately and I'm almost out. Can anyone tell me how the current batch of D4895 compares to IMR4895 or something else in my loading manual? The IMR data, -10% and work up instructions aren't hard to follow, but if I could get a closer starting point it would help speed things up.

Obvi. I'm a novice. Is there any one' powder, that you can use to load anything from 9mm to .308?

A fast powder like d700 would work in both, but badly; you wouldn't be getting the potential you can out of either.
But if you were just looking for subsonic I'm sure you could work up a load in either

ok so if my brains working properly here the D4895 is like imr4895 and seems like something id try in my 45-70. what would y'all recommend in the 30-06 something like 4064?

I use 51gr of IMR 4895 in my son's T3-30-06 with Barnes TTSX 150gr bullets @2950fps and .678" 3 shot groups.Does 40" of moose and deer bangflop mostly.
