7.62mm DCRA LE No4 conversion thread

Looks to me like it is just the barrel from 1149. The receiver is unmarked and the bolt handle doesn't appear to be either. It is a very clean looking rifle, and now reads as sold.
Regarding the magazine, I found the 2A1 magazines to work fine in most of the DCRA rifles. Back when the no2A1 was a $149 rifle, they were a good source for parts like the magazines and the stocks. Not so much anymore.

Anyone have aperture 's for the Parker sights?
Was it much work to turn a 308 no1 mk3 magazine into a working no4 308 magazine?

I always found the 2A1 magazine to be a "drop in" for the no4. The work comes in grinding out the inside edge of the 303 extractor to make it properly grab the 7.62 case and getting the ejector screw to just the right length where it would eject the case but not bind on the bolt body.

Since you guys are all assembled...has anyone on here ever figured out how to charger load a 7.62 magazine in a No4 and been able to get it to actually work smoothly?

I wish someone made conversion chargers that would fit the .303 opening and feed in 7.62 rounds.

The Sterling 7.62 charging bridge adapter / guide helps (a little).

What is the reason for a 303 barrel with a AGP burnished marking?
Enfield built 308 magazines that have the ejector lip built in for 308

A '44 long branch with Bolt #1100 is currently for sale on GunBroker.

Sterling mag but not a complete sterling conversion.

#1100 is sitting next to me as I read this. I won the second appearance on GetBroker, apparently in early 2019 (time sure does blur!)

What about it is "incomplete"? (For the record, the receiver ring/knoxform is also marked with "1100", and the stylized maple leaf, at/below the wood line.)

Any information is appreciated!

If I recall, the rifle had a sterling magazine but not all of “bits” of the complete sterling conversion kit.

Not an issue. Glad you were able to obtain it.

Lots of talk about magazines. On the DCRA target guns the Stirling mags etc where never used and are not park of a complete rifle. The rifles were used single shot and the FN was used for service matched. My club could get a bunch of FN's which could be signed out for the season. I kept mine under my bed when I was 18. It was fun having an unlimited supply of the Queen's ammo.
How does the #4 eject on these conversions?
