Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Is anyone having luck phoning in to the cfo to expedite approvals? Reading threads from other provinces, that tactic is working really well. BC is also now doing batch transfers against each pal holder.

Ontario has said they will not do either. What I haven't seen tried though is an ontario person calling another province's CFO. Hical told me to try that but I dont think I will lol no time

I would relate this to the guy cutting into the line far from the end . It’s not a classy move and shows no respect for the others in the Que. Asking for batch transfers is another thing altogether and this would help everyone in the Que.

Yes, more than a few have asked the Ontario CFO to do batch transfers and they refuse. The Ontario CFO office is controlled by the OPP and they just don’t give a rats azz it transfers take forever. A few years ago it was 8 - 10 weeks for transfers and they had no concerns about that and it’s pretty much the same attitude now.

Lol... Whatever. Butting in line? This isn't chuck-e-cheese or Pearson Airport.

The cfo needs to hear angry customers or the incentive to change will be just about zero. Compared to every other province we are sitting around like chumps while the OPP laughs like a bad Ray Liotta flick.

We make public safety laws after tragedy strikes. Part of the illogical reasoning for the hand gun ban was stolen weapons ending up in criminals hands. Stolen handguns are a public risk. Enough of a risk to ban all hand guns according to Justin.

We are in unprecedented times with a massive stock pile of handguns in retailers inventories unable to be shipped. This is a ticking time bomb. The transfers will not be sped up until the stock pile of weapons presents a public risk. Everyone here has enough common sense to realize this risk but we have no proof this is a risk because a major break in hasn't happened since the ban.

If that happens and thousands of guns end up in criminals hands then the government will have to speed up transfer to lower the risk or face more break ins. Thanks to the liberal media every criminal element is well informed as to where hand guns are stock piled in Canada right now.

This tragity is preventable but won't be prevented thanks to the Lauentian Elite who run this country. They will wait for a body count and then blame legal gun owners and retailers for their OIC ##### up.

Yes, angry customers for sure and I’m one of them but I’ll guarantee that I’ll not put myself first over hundreds of other gunnutz in the Que to have my transfer done ahead of all the rest just because I’m inpatient…

Unfortunately, I’ll just wait my turn but only after writing to my MP and the Ombudsman…

If you’re more important than the others ahead of you in the Que, that’s you, I guess…

Doesnt matter, Ontario guys have consistently said they will not do anything over the phone and to wait your turn, and that it will be processed in sequence and no batches

Seems like batch processing would cut the waiting time in half. But the huge volume is the problem. Even cutting 75% out is still a 4 month wait in Ontatio.

Regarding calling the office.

In good old days instructors at the firearms courses were warning their students such activity (calling the office) would only slow the process down as looked suspicious from the officers' view and trigerred additional review.

And such applications were processed longer.

Do
That and I dont think I want my wife to see 12 pistols arriving all at once
For real you ordered 12 pistoleros?
That postal dolly rolls up to your door.
But look poor postal worker is exhausted, as he was in a speedy delivery to Claven2 house.
Initiating a urgent front of the line delivery
Of his new?? ,,,CHINESE SURPLUS TT33/TYPE 54.

I remember doing this for the 44Mag revolver my wife bought me for my... 44th birthday... It had been some time & I picked up the phone, called the ON CFO & politely asked the gentleman that answered where/what stage my transfer was on & told him it was my birthday present. He did the transfer on the spot.

Flash forward to the current fiasco... I called & politely asked about my contact details, they updated my phone number & I made sure I had my range membership on file (not that it matters in ON) and took the opportunity to politely ask the lady if she could complete my transfers. She said no, said she would ask a manager & when she came back said that the transfers are being completed in the order received so I would have to wait...

IIRC I also told them that they should be doing batch transfers, to no avail...

Final comment, I tried the above because guys were saying they were successful in calling the CFO, but it wasn't my experience this time...
