Husqvarna Sporting Rifles #### - ALL MODELS!!!

Ran into a bit of a differculty. I bought a HVA 1640 in 9.3x62 a couple of months back.

I also bought a Burris Fullfield 2.5-10x42 (the follow-on to the Fullfield IV, which I have on my other 1640) to mount on it. Didn't really have time to fart around with it, so I used the iron sights at the range.

Well, last night I tried to mount it and to my disgusted surprise, the new scope is shorter than the old one, overall by well over an inch, and the tube is 3/8" shorter. Doesn't fit over the Weaver 55 and 46 bases. I thought it may be the thicker rings, but no, I tried to put it on the other 1640 that has thinner Burris Zee rings and no go.

Other than spend $150 on a Contessa rail, does anyone have any suggestions?

Just got this beauty a Husqvarna m98 can’t believe you can get such quality and workmanship for so little. Here are a few pics as she sits right now not going to do much with it just clean and oil and see how she runs .can’t do much to improve it perfect hunting rifle and chambered in the very capable 30-06 ,what more could a man want in a hunting rifle

Not trying to hijack the attention from your beautifull new rifle Gordon. But I bought a husquevarna in 30 06 from intersurplus about a year ago and am trying to figure out what model it is and the year of manufacture. I will provide photos. It has some nice wood!

Damn that's a beauty!. I also have a 9.3x62 I wanna show soon to see what model it is. But it's not a full stock like this. How did you find this rifle?.
Some one here was selling it! I also have a 1640 in 30-06 with adjustable comb that is really nice and shoots really well that I got here too, not as cheap as intersurplus but better shape than what I saw from there!

Wow!. Alot of people make a big deal about the pre 64 model 70s but they look over these husquevarnas. I believe these were on level with pre64 model 70s. That husquevarna I just posted i got for I think 430 bucks shipped. I dont know if these will stay cheap though.

The adjustable comb is nice. Alot of early rifle stocks were built for iron sights and due to that the combs were pretty low.

Many people just don't realize how good Husqvarna firearms are now and were through all of their transitions over the years.

I will admit, they have a lot more competition in the present markets of both sporting and martial firearms. However, they are still extremely well made and do the jobs they were intended to, at the time they were built, for the conditions of the times.

I no longer have a Swede M94/96/38 in my safe, but not because I don't appreciate them or how well they were made. My eyes no longer see the sights, even with glasses.

I do own one of their M98 clones, bought from Eagleeye on this site, chambered for the venerable 8x57, it came with a composite stock, which seems to be reasonably stable, but I changed out the trigger for a Husqvarna built adjustable. The original trigger is adjustable but doesn't break as crisply as this aftermarket type they once sold for these rifles. It loves 196 grain flat base/round nose bullets at 2600fps, which it shoots into 1.5 moa or less out to 300yds.

It's impossible to build a rifle of that quality from any components presently available today for twice that amount, even if you do the work yourself.
