Not trying to hijack the attention from your beautifull new rifle Gordon. But I bought a husquevarna in 30 06 from intersurplus about a year ago and am trying to figure out what model it is and the year of manufacture. I will provide photos. It has some nice wood!
I skimmed right past the part of your post where you mentioned the caliber 30.06 is a great combo in that!.What caliber?
These are a bargain!. I would love one in a mannlicker stock!. I hope they keep importing theseLooks like a 640 of some sort, commercial m98 action… but Baribal will tell you what it is for sure!
Damn that's a beauty!. I also have a 9.3x62 I wanna show soon to see what model it is. But it's not a full stock like this. How did you find this rifle?.I have a 649 9.3x62 in a full stock… 20” barrel, shoots around 1” 1 1/2” at 100mView attachment 986556
Some one here was selling it! I also have a 1640 in 30-06 with adjustable comb that is really nice and shoots really well that I got here too, not as cheap as intersurplus but better shape than what I saw from there!Damn that's a beauty!. Wow!. Alot of people make a big deal about the pre 64 model 70s but they look over these husquevarnas. I believe these were on level with pre64 model 70s. That husquevarna I just posted i got for I think 430 bucks shipped. I dont know if these will stay cheap though. Some one here was selling it! The adjustable comb is nice. Alot of early rifle stocks were built for iron sights and due to that the combs were pretty low. Some one here was selling it! It's impossible to build a rifle of that quality from any components presently available today for twice that amount, even if you do the work yourself.Wow!.
