Ran into a bit of a differculty. I bought a HVA 1640 in 9.3x62 a couple of months back.
I also bought a Burris Fullfield 2.5-10x42 (the follow-on to the Fullfield IV, which I have on my other 1640) to mount on it. Didn't really have time to fart around with it, so I used the iron sights at the range.
Well, last night I tried to mount it and to my disgusted surprise, the new scope is shorter than the old one, overall by well over an inch, and the tube is 3/8" shorter. Doesn't fit over the Weaver 55 and 46 bases. I thought it may be the thicker rings, but no, I tried to put it on the other 1640 that has thinner Burris Zee rings and no go.
Other than spend $150 on a Contessa rail, does anyone have any suggestions?
