Why would midwest care? Dlask cannot control what stock a person puts on using their barrel. Midwest cannot control what barrel someone uses for their chassi. Or what adapter or stock they use.Why not ask the parts supplier?
Seems to me they would be the resident expert on the assembly you are contemplating.
It won't even be close. OkayShooter has it right, but here is a picture of my 10/22 that will illustrate. Mine has a 12" McGowan barrel and an A2 flash hider, so it's already longer than what you are thinking of.It it going to pass N/R?
No it does not.Maybe a dumb question but I’m going to ask it anyway. Does the flash hider or for that matter a muzzle brake count in the calculation?
I thought a muzzle device does not count towards barrel length, but it does counts towards over all length? No it does not.
But a recoil pad, that requires a screw driver to remove. Counts to OAL.No it does not.

Yes these do count towards overall length. They do not count towards barrel length. This is one of those simple things people like to make complicated and argue over.Maybe a dumb question but I’m going to ask it anyway. If you truly want to keep it NR with your planned setup. You need to permanently install a rod or something on the stock that extends out when folded, then when you unfold the stock. Runs along the side of the reciever.
No it does not.

If the tail stock doesn't give you the OAL needed. You could pin the guide rods that it wont close fully.I was looking at this one like you suggested if folding will not work.
Stupid doesn't cover it.But a recoil pad, that requires a screw driver to remove. Counts to OAL.
Just shows how stupid our rules/laws are.
