PAL "in progress"

Here is a question for anyone willing to answer. (I am in Ontario if that makes a difference in the answer) I took and passed my non res and res tests on the 15th of august. The guy said he had to send in my course completions and that should take a month (why a month?) I just read earlier of some guy sending them in the day after he completed his Res test....is this normal or did I get screwed out of a month's wait?

when you wrote your test and it was scored you were given your copy of the test that proved you passed, you send that in with your application, the tester and how long it takes them to do anything has no effect on your application.

it took 40 days for my non res-pal,early this year. i mailed my res-pal application
this early Aug, they have my mail on the 10Th.i got interview by phone on the24Th,
RCMP called my reference today the 27Th. excellent so far.

update. RCMP called my 2ND reference on Sept,1 . approve on the Sept, 2ND.

so are you saying yes I did get screwed? I did not receive the test.... he said he had to mail it or something and gave me some apps to fill out. I filled those out as soon as I got home. He was supposed to mail my tests to me or what? I am going to call the guy... this kind of pisses me off. I know its partially my own fault but I figure the guy would at least make it clear to me how to go about doing everything. I asked a ton of questions about it all...

The process depends on which province you live in.

If you live in Ontario, you don't get the course report immediately. The instructor will mail it to the Chief Firearms Officer (CFO) for verification (a stamp). Then the CFO will mail it back to you in 2 to 3 weeks.

When you get it back from the CFO, you photocopy it and send the photocopy with your application to the Canadian Firearms Program in Mirimichi, New Brunswick.

Sorry my friend, I may have misinformed you, as Wildbore indicated ontario does handle things a little differentlly...

The woman on the other end gave me reference number and told me to have my references call in to speed up the process, so I told them to call in and immediately after they called in my application was processed. Just waiting on Canada post, anyone else get this fine treatment?

Also is it possible to get my licence number before it arrives in the mail?

Im still waiting for my new card...I've already spent my new handgun budget twice (17HMR from the EE and a few goodies from Gander Mountain) my wife is about to cut me off as this is all I talk about... PS: my wife shoots 4 inch groups at 150 yards with the new 17 HMR :)

I feel for you, sir!

I wouldn't mind working for the CFO... A place where dead lines do not exist.

From start to finish, I think it took 45 days for me.

Did someone phone you yet and references? If your application didn't fall off the table, you should be getting called any time now.
