Out here we hunt in shorter ranges and alot of thick stuff. My KING is my 450Marlin. Hail Hail to my up close and personal King. :shotgun:

this is where the true King prevails...........it's versatility. From the muzzle to a quarter mile, the 375 Ruger is the true KING

:dancingbanana:

That's ###y!:dancingbanana::dancingbanana:
Yeah, I like yours better though. It is down the 'projects list' a little ways, but, I'll have a close copy of this McM for my 'King of the 375s'...:)

And you. Just lovin' any hint of trouble for the BEST .375 going...:p:D

Got any up coming hunting plans for your CT?
Oh reeeeeeeally?

This configuration may be what I end up buying. VX-3 1.5-5 or 2.5-8 for glass. I love classic blue and walnut so laminated is my preference for an all weather rifle over plastic/fibreglass. And this pic is even a lefty action! Sweet.

That's a pretty old picture. It now wears a VXIII 1.5-5 on top. Just right IMO. Still needs a lower set of rings though.

Don't wait too long. Ruger didn't make very many of the LH Alaskanish.:) I think Clay @ Prophet River still has one left...;)

Based on passed and current sales (as well as projected sales), it is only a matter of a relatively short time until the .375 Ruger surpasses the number of .375 H&H.

OK. Now this tactic has gone just a little too far. I hate to cloud an otherwise entertaining and informative thread, but that's the kind of twist the liberals would use.

I mean really, does it surprise anyone that the ruger sales will surpass H&H sales? It certainly didn't surprise anyone when the WSSM sales skyrocketed also.

Troutseeker, bud, I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. All the people that wanted and had use for an H&H, ALREADY BOUGHT ONE A LONG TIME AGO. So of course the ruger YEARLY sales might surpass that of the H&H. And only time will tell if it will happen again next year, and any after that.

So try harder next time, kay?;):D

My point exactly, except for the belittling parts. :) So why is it exactly that if the .375 H&H is soooo great, people only need them in the past? Are there not new young and fit of body and mind people willing to buy a dinosaur? Of course not! BECAUSE A NEW KING IS BORN BABY! Long live the .375 Ruger!!!:dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

Groovy Baby, super shagadelic Ruger in .375, oh yeah!

Sorry, but thats an ugly gun there imho. What's up with the color contrast - the wanna be ruger sights and silly barrel band?
Seems to me that the Ruger copied the sights and bbl band from the older/classic style rifles like the H&H, as did I. Those NECG sights are more than just pretty, they work very well too.

I think those Ruger LH laminated rifles are the best looking of the bunch, so why not build one along the same lines? :)

He said "hunting plans" SC :p. I think what he means is are you planning to go kill something with it in the future :).

Only another what, 19 or so years to wait for another moose tag  :p :D

Give him a break, its only 18 more years...:p

Pretty sure SC has some other plans for it in the near future, besides NB ...;)

That's actually a nice looking, all business rifle. Only problem is it's a Remington 700, and thus a soldered/brazed together bolt push feed designed for ease of manufacture over other merits. Barrel band swivel studs aren't silly, they're downright smart on heavy recoiling rifles. Ever taken a swivel stud to the knuckle? There's a reason they're around, and my .375 H&H wears one. They're also much stronger than a short stud threaded into fore end wood, and since the top stub carries the load on the sling, this is a good thing. I have a feeling you're the Sako/Tikka/Savage kind.

Classy, looks like that was dremelled on the barrel.:D What next, dymotape calibers? No wait, I know, lettraset!:p

I like it, not just another production run stamped barrel. I don't mind knowing a smith actually laid that out by hand, and built a rifle the same. Perhaps I'm old fashioned, but I'll take a simple hand engraving over laser etching, always liked a guy at a bench over a mechanical arm in a plant.
