Shorten PAL Approval Times

both my reference rpal interviews were completed today and i was told they went very well. what is my wait time until i have an rpal in my hands. is the interview the final step?

when was your application received ?

After your interview and your references they scan your photo into the system and send it to your provincial cfo for final review

after its approved depending on where you are it can take 12 days to a week.

add 28 days to the day they received your application and then another 12-7 days for the mail to get to you with your card.

If everything is good to go with your application

12 -7 days? :)

I wish I got caught in the lovely delay caused by government holidays. Approved on the 18th but since they only print and mail on Fridays and last Friday was a holiday they wont print it till this friday and then since I live in Alberta it will take 6 business days I am at a total of 22 days from approved to in hand (If everything works like it should) But it did only take 28 days for my approval :)) Or at least that is what the very nice lady at the CFC told me.

yeah, thats some BS on ontario...I don't see the benefit in doing that other than making people get very agitated and pissed off. If anything they are just doing that to limit the amount of people they approve to give new licenses to?

im so happy i didn't have to bother with that crap if i did i probably just would of received my license now.. instead of middle of march..

Man I hate you guys with your 28 day approvals!!!! Im here waiting more than 30+ days just for a damn stamp of approval of a course we already took and passed!

I don't understand this. I walked out of my courses with test results in hand. Went to walmart for photo, and mailed application on the third day.

Finally received my test results for the non-restricted course on Tuesday, but not the results for the restricted course!

Should I mail in the application with only the non-restricted results? Or wait for the restricted results and send both in with the application?

I'm in Ontario and it was about 8 weeks to get the results I got on Tuesday. If you're wondering I took & passed both courses the same weekend... so I have no idea why I didn't receive both at the same time.

send your application in!!!

just add anote saying you will send the results as soon as you receive them.

otherwise you are wasting time this way you could of send your application in and start the 28 day waiting peroid and save that 4 weeks later.

Now you waited 6+ weeks for the results and have to wait another 4 weeks.

go send in your application today! either registered or xpress-post and with xpress-post theres a chance they will deliver it late and its guaranteed on time delivery so if they are a day late they will refund your postage.

They were a day late in delivering mine so i got my money back. But you have to call and tell them that it was delivered late. if you don't they obviously wont send you a refund

Sounds good! I'll send it in tomorrow. I wish I had found this site BEFORE waiting two months for the results =) Oh well... better now than later.

kevn, I did the same as you but sent my application in once I figured it out but reading the forum. I sent my application regular snail mail April 6th and it arrived on the 11th. Not bad but the problem is that their system did not show it arrived until yesterday.

I am still waiting for results and will fax them in once I receive them which should be in August if the delays keep up.

The key is to start the clock going by sending the application in.

Good luck!!!

...we do our test the test goes out for approval after passing it so that you can get it back...and then you send that stamped and approved test out with the app to miramichi. ...
:(

No, that is what the instructors are obliged to tell you, send the application in, get the 28 days started, then send in the stamped results.
