Maybe you got a lemon, but the "junk" package scope is actually not terrible...and seems to be holding up quite nicely to the .223. No issues so far and the optics remain clear.
Nobody bought the Marlin XL7Camo ones for $279.99?
I might pick one up in 7mm-08, I heard they were a lot better than the savage, no scope of course.
I'll be honest, I never even fired a shot with the package scope. It would probably be okay with the .223. Instead, its going to likely become a scope for a .22.
For my purposes, the 6-18 will provide me more use. Even if it is an old 'junk' Banner scope, it held up on a .300 WM, so it should do well on the .223.
Good to see some good tight groups coming out of these rifles.
Anyone have any suggestions on strengthening the stock? It seems to have a fair amount of flex from the factory.

How are the guys finding some of the heavier rounds in this light package? I imagine the 30-06 would feel fairly stout.

Great job on that stock Bob , is that a hobby or a profesion ?
It's clearly a cut above the Axis in every way. What's the problem here?
