Geez, policy policy policy! I think if someone goes for a gun exam, that should show responsibility enough. Then again, what kind of person fails that test? I'm new to guns and I got 97% written and 100% practical. It really wasn't that difficult.
I know, its an Ontario thing. From what I gather, there were issues with past Ontario instructors passing or authorizing acceptance to individuals whom actually failed a portion of the testing (or something like that........also heard that some instructors whom were no longer licenced used old testing approval forms, but I really am not privvy to the actual happenings).
SOOO, now Ontario applications need to have the marks stamped before the CFC and ultimately the CFO at the end of the process will authorize.........

so who else had it take 2 weeks plus to get it online? I'm starting to think my application got lost or something, even though they signed for it.![]()
Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canada Firearms Centre Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)

[For Ontario residents: you can send in your application before you get your stamped CFSC firearms course results back from the Ontario CFO and get the 28 day waiting period started earlier than if you wait and attach the results to the application. Questions 20(a) and (b) each have a box to check if the exam results are enclosed, so you would just leave that blank. Probably also worthwhile to include a note that exam results will follow. The 28 day clock starts once the application is received by CFC. If you wait until you get your 'stamped' safety course report(s) back you have added that to your waiting period, and it is often about 6 weeks.]

Is this really advisable? Wont that in fact slow down the process since you have documentation in 2 separate places arriving at different times that needs to be matched up at the CFC?
Yes. No.
FINALLY !!!!! recieved Nov.14 issued Feb.18 no phone calls to anybody
Thanks for the quick reply, calalta. I didn't mean to sound like I was challenging your opinion, just wanted to find out the quickest way of doing this.
How did you label the second envelope, etc with the CFSC test results to make sure it ended up with your application? Also any advice on question 20(c) on the form? Thanks again!

Section G, question 20 (c). It just has some confusing wording, even after reading the info at the top of the page. So would I check 'yes', but what would I specify like it asks?
RED TAPE, RED TAPE & MORE RED TAPE !!!It is to believe that they make all that fuss to justify some people's job ! While the whole process could be done at a one unique place, They make everything go , here then there to everywhere. so it creates bureaucratic jobs and the same papers are getting handled several time by Canada post so this generates more income to the government !! meanwhile we wait
